This will be followed by a typical late season, good feel run with us playing near to or. 500 ball over the last 20+ games or so.

Wall will start off out of sorts and disappoint many at first but will have a full fledged breakout over the 2nd half of the year.

Dude, what numbers should I pick in the lottery?

If we go down tonight, looks like I was spot on with my 19-47 prediction...as would be Hoopalotta, DaRealHibachi, closg00

No idea about lotto. We won't win it though, but we'll definitely be in the top 5.

One more win!

Put me down for 19 wins...

Can we get a tally of the predictions thus far?

Wow - cannot believe I was so close to being right (I need to buy a lottery ticket!)

First time I've ever guessed less than 10 wins too many.

The board did well this year. Next year we might grossly overestimate the number of wins. I'm going with 55 as of now, that 6 game winning streak was DYNAMITE.

Only 55 ? Come on. We are going to be better then that.

I think the board did better this year because unlike years in the past, there was a very high degree of tank laid before us. Strike shorten year was to good to pass up.

I guess I didn't fully understand just how tankable you have to be in order to get a top 5 pick. I didnt realize they would completely shelve Lewis and that Mo, Mason and Ronny would see so few minutes early on. Well Ronny broke his hand and only played 1 or 2 games I think. Seeing those name on the roster lead me to believe they would actually play some. That would have lead to a few more wins. But I would gladly miss hitting the guessimate by a few games in exchange for a top 5 pick.

Well, the tank years are behind us. Now they will actually field a team that is trying to win from game one of the season. Predicting next years record is going to be a lot harder then this year.

See . . . told ya so. :D

Nothing more to read here. Just keep moving. :)

I think this is probably the key, though:
Joe_Wiz wrote:I have become increasingly ignorant about the team as time goes by . . . Still, when has ignorance ever stopped a sports fan from expressing an opinion?
and in my defense, there is this:
Joe_Wiz wrote:I think 20-25 wins is about right, but in my ongoing quest for happiness via unrealistic optimism, I'm officially predicting a record of 34-32.

If anyone cares to see the whole thing free of selective editing, I'll save you the trouble of going back; it's quoted in full below. But in any event, since my official prediction was way, way off, I hearby eat crow and accept whatever mockery might be delivered unto me.

Joe_Wiz wrote:I have to admit I have become increasingly ignorant about the team as time goes by -- I just haven't been following them carefully for over a year and have barely paid any attention to this offseason. Still, when has ignorance ever stopped a sports fan from expressing an opinion?

I think those of you who are predicting fewer than 20 wins are giving into cynicism -- you look cooler if you predict a lousy record and they outperform it, while you look foolish if you predict a better record than they actually achieve. I think 20-25 wins is about right, but in my ongoing quest for happiness via unrealistic optimism, I'm officially predicting a record of 34-32.

Blatche is better than many give him credit for, and he and the other young veterans (i.e., non-rookies) have another year of age and experience under their belts when they still haven't hit their peaks. And most of the starters and a number of the bench players have a year or more of experience playing together, so they don't have to learn to play together from scratch.

Did I mention I didn't watch any of the preseason games? Maybe ignorance is bliss, but I say 34-32.
