Anyone expecting huge numbers out of Mullens this year will be disappointed. However, he's done mighty fine considering the fact many people said he would never start or produce for an NBA team. Even though Charlotte barely qualifies as an NBA team, Mullens has done real well, though he's struggled a bit lately. But look at his potential: a seven-foot or seven-one player who has one of the sweetest jump shots I've ever seen for a big man out to three point range. He's got excellent speed, mobility, and can get off the floor. He's only scratched his potential. Inevitably, teams were going to pick up on his early season hot outside shooting and play him closer. He's got to to work on driving to the basket. He also should work on his posting moves. At times he makes a nice post move, but he's still pretty unpolished. His defense is not awful, but he still reacts poorly and can be outmuscled. He has had double figures scoring and rebounding games, so with a little experience and added muscle, he can be decent on defense. Offensively, he could be a twenty points per game person if he develops a killer move. Even now if Charlotte used him more effectively, he could score more. Silas runs a guard-oriented offense with two point guards who think shot first. With his athletic ability and hard work, there's no reason why Mullens shouldn't eventually be a go to guy on offense. He's still only 22 years old and almost a rookie considering his age and the fact that he's never gotten any playing time before Charlotte. Two years from now is when you want to make a more definite judgement concerning Mullens.

Damn straight it is. Not having BJ is why we're going out in the first round this year.

Mullens told the Observer that he basically saw this as his rookie season. He was definitely worth a 2nd round pick but he's got to work on a lot of fundamental big man stuff like rebounding and defense. He's got to work on passing in a big way.

Hopefully playing for England over the Summer will get him some good exposure on what to work on and improve.

This, folks, is a perfect example of when being a Sam Presti homer goes too far.

I have this nagging feeling that BJ is going to become Kris Kaman with an almost Dirk-like offense and all of us Thunder fans are gonna do one big face palm.

You revived a 3 month old thread on the last day of the season. Your insecurity as a Thunder fan is embarrassingly pathetic.

Or maybe I wanted to see what people think now that we've had a full season instead of a 15 game sample size. What's wrong with that?

After the thread being dead for three months, and on the last day of the season? For what reason, other than to mollify your pathetic insecurity? Whatever, knock yourself out. Mully's got a ton of work to do, but he had a game of 31/17 last month. Has a Thunder big ever had a game like that? For all intents and purposes this was his rookie season.

7/13 what a chucker

I don't get the PPS stat anyway. So if you get hacked on a shot you get a boost to your PPS since it doesn't add an attempt but its still a possession taken up. So who cares?

this, i never understand with PPS stats, its good, but taken out of context.

Yup, Thunder sure did miss him and his .473 TS%, poor rebounding, and complete lack of defense. He managed to be worse than Nazr Mohammed this year!
