thought this would be an interesting read if you don't follow locke

according to him the jazz's big lineup is elite defensively with a rating of 78.5 (points per 100 possessions) which is pretty nuts. i'm excited to see if the jazz can shock some people with them on the floor.

Those numbers are really impressive, but unfortunately the article doens't mention a single word about sampling sizes and whether the big lineup of Millsap-Favors-Big Al/Kanter has played enough relevant minutes. But still, those numbers are pretty amazing.

You also have to take into account that no team in the league planned on playing that lineup and didn't know how to adjust/exploit it. I'm guessing it won't be as effective in the playoffs because Popovich will do just that. I could see him switching to a zone defense or counter with a Parker-Ginobli-Diaw-Duncan-Splitter lineup.

offensively yeah that might make things different, but does it change things defensively? diaw kind of plays like most small forwards.

I think that is the lineup we would like to face though! Only Ginobli can shoot the three in that lineup. I think Millsap can take it to Diaw, if we give him enough space. Diaw did a good job agst Millsap in the other games, but we need to exploit his speed disadvantage.

Please take into consideration Popovich is smarter than I am.
