These interviews are done early to enable the players to get out of here ASAP. For those that were whining about not staying in Miami overnight, now you got plenty of time.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Re: BC presser live; Casey's option picked up
A question I couldn't understand from Paul Jones. "What's the No. 1 thing now that you've got the base laid?" WTF?
- "Again, maybe the best way to say it is that if there was, and I gotta be careful how I position this. There was never an acceptance to losing. But if there was going to be losing and losing with a purpose and accomplishing things along the way, I think next year the anticipation will be different. We'll be a little less tolerant of the mistakes being made by young players. The focus will be different. If the target is growth and development this year, the target next year is going to be the playoffs. We're going to try our best to make decisions that put us in position to compete for the playoffs.
If you look at this year's objectives, they don't necessarily align with next year's objectives. This year was not rebuilding, it was building. Next year is continue building but there will be different parameters. We're going to hope to continue growing organically but I think you'll see a little less acceptance of the mistakes, or the lack of improvement in one's game.
It's great to say that coming into the year that Ed needed to get bigger and stronger, and he did put time in the weight room, but we didn't get to work with him because of the lockout. But next year the expectations on Ed Davis will be completely different. If he doesn't get it and take it to the next level, he'll probably suffer. Whereas this year it was a year we wanted to develop and bring him along. We're moving forward. The train will keep moving forward. We'll only accept the people who buy into what we're doing and continue to develop their games and contribute to the performance target."

Re: BC presser live; Casey's option picked up
How do you evaluate DeMar?
- "Difficult year this past summer, couldn't control the off-season growth. He's still a young player and we talked last year about needing to improve defensively, better rebounding from his position, maybe more range shooting. He didn't get to that next level in terms of 3-point shooting. Rebounding from his position, his numbers were ths ame, I'd like to see that improve. Dwane feels his defence is a lot better. He needs to get stronger. He's put in a lot of time as the year went on, spent time with Alex McKechnie. They continued to add things to help with the strength component. Interestingly, he gained weight, lost body fat and got stronger in certain areas. I think as the year went on you saw him get to the line more often, go in there with more confidence, play offensively.
The one thing we keep stressing to DeMar is to play at one speed, you have to practise at that speed. I think he's in this move where he literally practices at a slower pace. We're trying to talk about that a lot with him. Young player, young ideals, hopefully we can get him to think differently in that regard.
Sky's the limit for this young man. Again, I think we did see by the end of the season, might have been a bumpy start, but by the end of the season we saw an improved DeMar DeRozan."

He specifically mentioned picking a player even if we don't move up, and bringing that player and Val in next season.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
