Was talking about not believing Toronto is a bad place for free agents. He said there are some organizations in warm climates that are having problems, aka the Magic

some of the warm climate teams have the same issues with attracting talent as the raptors.

How to manage expectations for Jonas?

- "If he comes in as the president of Lithuania, I'll be nervous. He literally has that status in Lithuania. They treat basketball like a religion and he's elevated himself to very important status in that community. Athletically, politically. But 19 years old. Has done a great job of managing his own growth and attention on both a local and world stage. And I think he's going to come in here and no one's anointing him the starting centre. No one's going to pre-determine how many minutes he'll play. We'll let it play as need be. We'll be targeting something different next year so although it'll be important to develop him and integrate him into the process, we've gotta do it in the right time and the right time won't be determined by me today."

Sorry guys, stream cut out?

Yeah, it sounds as though they don't really know exactly what they're going to do yet. Which is probably healthy enough at this stage.

I was pretty concerned after his first couple answers that he's made up his mind to deal the pick. A couple comments later on though were heartening -- when discussing shooters he seemed to think he would get one at our pick.

The most important things I toke away from this:

-The mention of possibly packaging the pick along with one of our players for a possible trade (moving up the draft/acquiring a player)
-He mentions growing organically next year, that was the biggest positive for me. Its a sign of commitment to the team as well as the future of the organization, but he will add few pieces to compliment the youth that can perhaps push them in the sights of a playoff hunt

-Screw it, I'm making my own!

BC:

*Opens water bottle, does not drink it*

- Proud of the job Dwane has done with this group.
- He has a great defensive mind and we feel that he will continue to inspire this young team on both ends of the floor.
- Andrea has many a steady improvement under Dwane.
- Each player will have an off season/summer plan to work on.
- Summer League will be very interesting and we hope to make it as competitive as possible.
- Again I cannot comment if Val will be there or not...
- Obliviously injuries were a factor to key players throughout the season.
- We are in good communication with Jonas team back in Europe.
- Again I cannot talk to much about this as yet.
- Jamal has been a great leader on and off the floor. Kind of like Garbo was a couple years ago...
- The young guys look up to him and respect him.
- We are a young team and are always looking for way to improve.
- There are many different scenarios that we have looked at throughout the summer and we will continue to evaluate our situation throughout the season.
- We have a young team, with plenty of upside. We hope the fans understand this and still stick with us. - Toronto is a great sports city, the fans appreciated hard work and I'm confident the guys we have will give that on the floor.
- Andrea, Val, Demar, Ed, Jarred and Amir are good piece to collectively build around.
- No one is un-tradable/safe so to speak...
- Many areas to improve.
- Toronto has great fans, we just hope they can be a little patient and continue to grow with us.
- Looking to take big steps next season.
- Don't forget to log on to http://www.raptors.com for your chance to beat the line and get your 2012-2013 season tickets!
- Sunday will still be family fun...bring the kids for a chance to meet Sponge Bob.
- Thank you.

the biggest tidbit of the presser is that jose is probably going to retire a raptor as long as colangelo stays.

BC has calmed the masses. Now we'll have a better idea of what we do with our pick come May 30th at the draft lottery.

My impression.

-Davis might be on the block, has the most to prove.
-Bayless will be back at the right price.
-James Johnson might not be back.
-Jose might be retained as a back-up/locker room presence.
-Rookies are coming off the bench.
-BC will throw a lot of money around this season and probably take on an overpaid vet.

Gonna be another wild summer around here. The honeymoon is over.

My sentiments exactly...

Because we have so many options and so many tools this thing can go many ways and
I think they will be open to doing anything. If Somebody knocks them away with an
offer whether for the draft pick or us taking on additional salary we'd be open to it.

Im glad that they want to build organically, want to improve the offense, and are aware
of the shooting problems. I think in the end they will want to add a shooter in the
nucleus and not a veteran shooter role player type thats here for a year or 2 which
is why I think they will keep the pick in the end.

In the event we won the lottery and had to draft Anthony Davis it would be fascinating
to see what we would do since were dedicated to Valanciunas and apparently Ed Davis
and we know the love affair with Bargnani.
