Awful. Aaron Gray should not start over a top 5 draft pick.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Were gonna have to anticipate foul trouble with Valanciunas ala Amir Johnson
early on I don't know if were gonna throw him to the Wolves right off the bat.

Yeah, it sounds as though they don't really know exactly what they're going to do yet. Which is probably healthy enough at this stage.

I was pretty concerned after his first couple answers that he's made up his mind to deal the pick. A couple comments later on though were heartening -- when discussing shooters he seemed to think he would get one at our pick.

We probably have to wait for the draft day to figure out what we can get from other teams. I think half of what we are going to do depends on other teams, the draft order and players who wants to be traded.

Very hard to tell what they are going to. So many options.

I think though JJ, Amir are gone.

It depends on how you go by looking at this. We all wanted accountability, well, this is exactly how you set the foundation. To give rookies or young players the automatic starting bid on virtue of their age could give them a false sense of entitlement. Veterans provide the groundwork on how to properly play the game of basketball, and their lessons can be properly fortified by their starting; it's not enough to just teach them the skills in practice because the credence isn't as great as proving it in actual games, and that is the most important when it comes to development; credibility.

In the case of Aaron Gray who is flawed in many ways but big men fundamentals, it could prove a vital development for Jonas in the long haul.

I thought that at first then when he went out of his way to talk about how he improved
defensively and how he improved laterally and reduced his blow byes and how what a
great leader he is I started thinking smokescreen and how he could be trying to build
his value up.

When he talked about adding additional salary before July 1 I thought of using the TPE
but what team would just straight up salary dump a good player? still possible I guess
for cap reasons but Caderons expiring could be used as major trade bait to trade for a
player of that contract type who has a few more years on it.

We'll expect another big conference interview after the draft and key trades. I can't wait to see what's in store for us.

I think the state of the franchise right now has got to get people excited. This off season will put a mark on this team for the next 3-5 years.

I believe in BC, he is going to what is right for the team.

On a side note, I don't put much weight on him talking about Calderon. I believe he will be gone in a form of a trade, as he said his value is high. Both BC and Case talked about Shooting and Uptempo offence. I believe they will add a wing who is a shooter and a PG who is fast and can also shoot.

The question is who are these guys?

Jerryd Bayless is a smart dude. Billups is a ridiculous on-court comparison for him, not close to close, but he tried to buy himself some time to succeed. You know he wanted to say MJ.

Aaron Gray should not be starting over ANY legit rotation big man, except for very specific matchup purposes.

He played decently this year, but he's still a low-minute rotation guy at best. If Amir didn't completely fall apart this year Gray would not (and should not) have been starting at all.

That's a reason why I think Lillard might be the prospect we pick.

Something is going to happen soon. I remember BC on the radio a month or 2 ago and he mentioned that he cannot wait for the off-season to begin (really stressed this and was excited despite being subtle). He mentioned about cap flexibility AND that things can happen even before the July 1 2012 FA period. Here he is stressing this again. Who does he have in mind that we can absorb contract for?

Does this deserve its own thread?

Interesting enough, Kevin Martin makes about $12 million a season.... Rondo makes about $10 million... Rudy Gay makes $15 million so probably not him.

^ I meant a thread just for who we can target for shooters and up tempo guards.

But yeah, lots to talk about from now until the draft.
