The NBA really needs to increase the active roster number. Why let you have 15 players but only 12 active. That's kind of stupid. If you are paying them, let them be available.
Why do they do this ?

I want those two back. They bring the same steadying professionalism as bigger name vets, and coupled with Nene, that's a lot of veteran presence. I don't mind some of the trades (mostly CCJ's) that bring Gordon here, or pursuing Danny or Gerald Green (if the price is reasonable), but I really want the Wizards to find a decent veteran backup for Wall.
Agreed. I'd even give some consideration to having Evans on that list as well.
Down the stretch when he was actually getting more than spot minutes, he
produced reasonably well. The only caveat would be based on who we end up
drafting. I love the idea of somehow parlaying our 2 2nds and any of Dray, Lewis
Jordan into a chance to take Crowder or Dray Green. Or a couple other guys as
far as that goes ie Denmon.

Re: 6-0, Heat vs Wizards GT
I gotta hand it to Glen. There were certainly times in the past when I
felt like he was just a huge homer and not that interesting because of
that. I've changed somewhat in that regard in that I think realistically,
he almost has to be a homer in order to get access to the players and do
the job that fans want him to do.
That said I honestly have to give him huge props for allowing my 14 yo daughter
to not be just quickly written off when she calls in. He repeatedly went out
of his way to be nice to a kid. I think he sincerely really likes her.
What parent couldn't REALLY appreciate that? I just hope the fans listening
don't groan when she comes on the air. There are clearly moments when
she sounds exactly like who she is, a 14 yo fan. But I try to teach her whatever
insights I can. I'm very lucky to have kids like her and her sister.
We chatted both Glen and Dave Johnson up before the game and they both
met my older and were most gracious to her as well. Good guys.
Jacqui is now thinking towards a career in sports journalism.

Glen is a good guy.
I used to call in to Ken Beatrice when I was much younger than Jacqui and he was very kind and respectful, not condescending. In fact, check this out from Wikipedia:
"Beatrice's show was known for his encyclopedic memory of obscure sports statistics and his pronounced Boston accent. A memorable feature of Beatrice's show was the respect he gave children who called and his willingness to engage in dialogue—very unlike talk-show hosts these days."

Did he mention what a good job Bernard King was doing at the "quickside forward" position?

BTW - I don't know how many heard this but Glen had Jacqui on
the air DURING THE GAME (3rd Q)on Monday night. I was astonished
by that turn of events. We went up to say hello at halftime
and the next thing I knew Glen was asking the engineer
for a headset to put on her. Unbelievable.
Dave Johnson is supposed to be getting me an Mp3 of that
segment.

I was at this game last night. What can I say? The fries were delicious and it was an overall fun game to watch. Especially considering my nephew was with me and he's a huge Heat fan.
But yeah anyways I think this team is definitely headed in the right direction. They just need to add one or two more pieces and they'll be in the playoffs next year.

I almost believe that with the play we've seen post-trade deadline,
that it won't even take anything that dramatic in terms of roster
infusion to at least make the playoffs next year. Nene >>>> McGee/Nick.
But of course we will get something/someone.
But in times like these, I'm usually overly optimistic.

Let me say this about that. I caught Jacqui on air a few games ago while driving home from work one night and I was impressed with her insight and knowledge and depth of opinion as well as her ability to articulate a passionate opinion. Many sports callers freeze up and stumble when on air and Glen actually quizzed her on finer points of her opinion, which she was able to explain off the cuff. I thought she was a smart little dude and was even more impressed when it became clear she was a girl. Chauvinist moment, sorry, just being honest. So I came away thinking that kid is doomed for life, to be a Wiz fan so danged early. And thought her parents should be locked up for clearly neglectful parenting. Coudl be worse though she could be a Cowboys fan.
I also liked that Glen told her to stop by before the game with questions about any holes in her game and he'd give her a few drills to practice. I too have come around on Glen. I missed the caustic and acerbic Scott Jackson, but now that Jacko's on with Doc Walker and BMitch I have nothing to be bitter about. Both Dave Johnson and Consor seem to embody the definition of the word 'mensch'. Good hearted dudes doing the slog work with no complaint and evident enjoyment when the team wins.
Nice to know how that poor girl got so twisted though, you cruel unfeeling bastid jim.

Re: 6-0, Heat vs Wizards GT
To be clear, Glen is a tough SOB. Started four years for Pitino at BU. Rick had him running sprints in the snow until he puked one night after COnsor had the temerity to break from the called play, even though he scored the winning basket in the process. Came up in the Bronx.
Played in Israel but never got paid, as was custom back in the day -- and still is all to offten today around Europe. Had a tryout with the Bullets in the mid 80's.
Good dude.

dobrojim, I forget which of your daughters I met, but she was thoroughly engaged in the on court action and made astute observations. And contrasted with you in your wild Wizards wig, she looked very low key. You all must have some great in-game conversations.

glen consor is the f'ing man. he calls it like it is. doesn't kiss anyones butt. always calls out wall when he makes a bad decision. and he used straight CLOWN mcgee and blatche.
phil & buck are nothing but a bunch of brown nosers. and they are getting too old to even call the games imo. they can't even tell who a foul is on half the time or what actually even happened. they have to watch the replay like 3 times before they see what everyone else saw when it was live.

Dude is all talk.
awesome video. Im telling all of you its different this time. Its never ever been like this before with Dray. He's never takened responsibilty. He also has finally been benched. He also has like 5 or 6 truly legit guys in front of him. I dont care what anyone says, you still wanna play. The team also started to play well.
Then even when he played poorly he could hide behind of solid numbers even if they were not effecient. Now his numbers are horrible, the fans hate him, and he was openly being shopped. Then he see's a player in Nene dominate who he use to play well against and he sees KS now doing what he did a few years ago.
Ive called it and Im calling it again. Our starting Frontcourt next year will be Nene & Dray. Book it. Dray will look real good next year. In top shape and looking real good
And here I thought I was the last guy to run screaming off the dray train. Seriously you still have faith, after all thats happened? Even i gave up a long time ago. The guy didnt clean up his act after nearly getting shot dead, a few rooks and second year guys showing him up is going to transform his sense of personal identity and self-respect? I seriously doubt it.
