What pick would we have had?

Post#1 » by Aussie 2point0 » Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:50 am

I know we only have a top 3 protected pick. But i'm just curios to know where we actually finished. Seeing as how won the same amount of games as other clubs. It depends on who won the regular season series????? Is this correct? If so could someone please tell me where we finished....

Cheers

1) Coin-flip determines draft position when teams have same record.

2) Draft selection isn't done by ranking. It's done by a weighted lottery system and the team with the most losses has the highest number of ping-pong balls. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Draft_Lottery

3) Not to be a jerk but this didn't need a separate thread. Should probably be merged with draft thread.

You guys lost the coin flip with Sac, so your pick is currently 6th. Obviously a lot can change, you're basically tied for 5th as far as actual lottery balls go, so a very good chance of moving up into the top 3.

We lose the coin toss, so what are our chances for #1 or Top 3 pick now?

Made no difference really to use, basically effects Portland more.

Means the best pick they can get is 6 but it could drop to 7,8 or 9.

Losing the coin toss means very little to us. I'm still dreaming about Anthony Davis, just imagine him on the Nets.....

We have a 25% chance of moving up to the top 3. Or in other words, we have the same chance of landing a top 3 pick as Nick Swisher has at getting a base hit. I don't know if that's good or bad.

1st-2
2nd-1
3rd-5
4th-1
5th-2
6th-1
7th-2
8th-1
9th-1

Since Iverson's draft. Worst record has won the lottery twice (Lebron, Dwight)... the second worst once (Iverson) etc..

Apparently, we can't get the 4th or 5th pick. So either we get a top 3 pick or Portland gets 6th or worse.

It's the same as it is every year. The lottery is only for the top 3, after that you just go back to your position (6th in our case).

It's mathematically not possible to get the 4th or 5th. NBA lotto for you!
