Jeremy Evans (Restricted Free Agent)

(1) What is his market value?
(2) Do you think we'll match it?

I'd expect more than minimum given his age and athletic ability. He's got enough upside to get something more.

I expect a Ronnie Price deal... somewhere around 1.5 - 2 million over two to three years. I'd like to have him back. He's a good locker room presence and a good energy guy when things are going wrong (sort of like RP, actually).

if he goes, i expect him to be something like the player who flourishes when given the opportunity on another team. something like kufus, or humphries, or stevenson.

he needs to stay on this team. especially if al or sap end up not staying.

Evans is a nice kid, has a lot of energy and it is fun to watch him dunk. However, even after last nights impressive performance, I think that the Jazz could probably find either a true PF or SF that would help the team overall more so than Evans (see e.g. Carroll).

4 years, $24 million "toxic" offer sheet from the Blazers. We're so screwed.

I say offer Brandon Rush 3/$10M and we get a long athletic SF/SG who shoots 40% from the 3, and can be a great defender. Jeremy Evans is a 13th player on the roster. I don't mind resigning him if he will commit to camp and come and show that he actually worked on his game so that he can become a sf in the future. Plus he's Haywards buddy.... but I have my doubts if he will get a contract offer at all from the Jazz or anyone else.

I really like Rush and think he should be something we should get, but I think Rush will get a bigger contract than that. Rush would be a great player to get off the bench.

He really isn't someone you spend much to retain. His range is alley-oop dunks and he is too skinny to fight for position on offense in the paint or spend much time trying to defend the 4. Can't really be your 3 because he can't shoot from the outside. Depending on what happens regarding the roster for next year he may or may not be back at the minimum.

I think we'll extend the qualifying offer, let him go see how much he's worth, and then match or not depending on what he can get.

I hope he stays around and plays the 3. His defense could be incredible one day.

Thought this would be a good time to bump this.

I expect we'll make the qualifying offer and then wait to see what he can get on the market.

I hope we keep him. Makes us uber flexible for Harris/Millsap/Jefferson trades.

The QO is made. He likely will accept it. He needs to learn to play the 3 IMO.

Yes, Evans at 3 is what I've been hoping for. I think he could become a defensive menace at that position.
