Re: The Kemba Walker Thread (warning from Mods - Page 68)
I think Kemba will get 2nd team Rookie honors, if nothing else but b/c of name recognition and sympathy for the Cats.
Kyrie, Rubio, Klay (thanks to statpadding when GSW went into tank mode), Kawhi (for being capable on a good Spurs team) will probably take 1st team. Brooks kind of petered off after his hot start. Tristan Thompson will probably make 2nd team along with Markief Morris and I'll go with Isaiah Thomas for being snubbed from 1st team b/c he's on a terrible Kings' team.

I really think Faried is overrated, honestly I forgot about him. He has some buzz behind him and the Nuggets aren't a bad team so he might knock either Klay or Kawhi off or no worse than 2nd team. I'd rank Kemba way higher than Faried though b/c he is way more valuable to his team.

That doesn't even make sense.
The team is terrible with or without Kemba. And they've won all of zero games with him starting. Faried has filled Kenyon's old role and then some.

so true. value to a team doesn't matter if the team fails to produce value

They have won one game with Kemba starting, for what that's worth. http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=320114030
kemba averages 12pts 4 ast 3.5 reb per game despite his shooting and has a I think 25% usage rate. I can't think of anyone else who would pick up the slack if you remove Kemba. My guess is we would be even terrebeler without him, whatever that would mean.

I was watching last night and Kemba looks like he just lacks confidence. I dont understand with a team this bad why he isnt featured more in the offense. He should have to green light to shoot shoot shoot, drive and drive some more. I dont get it. Has he just had some really bad nights and the coach has pulled in what he is allowed to do out there? He just seems to lack that agressiveness that I know he has.

hard to really tell if this stems from poor coaching that doesnt know how to play kemba to his strengths or coaching that is trying to teach him to be more of a passing point guard even if it comes at the expense of his game currently. i think its probably a combination of both.

Need to just hire D'Antoni in the off season. I bet he could figure out a way to use Walker.

David Thorpe, on SI Insider posts his All-Rookie Teams:
1st Team:
Kyrie Irving
Klay Thompson
Kawhi Leonard
Kenneth Faried
Gustavo Ayon
2nd Team:
Ricky Rubio
Isaiah Thomas
Kemba Walker
Chandler Parsons
Tristan Thompson
Of Kemba, he notes:
Also, in his year end Top 50 Rookie Rating, he lists Kemba at 8 & Bismack at 13, a big move up for Biz, who Thorpe had in the 20s most of the yr.

Walker is someone we're not sure will be a long-term starter but should be impacting games for a decade in this league. It's not fair to fully evaluate him based on the devastating season his team had. But, surrounded by awfulness this season, he found a way to rise above and be average, which is far more impressive and difficult than you'd think.
We know Walker was good enough to carry an otherwise average UConn team to a national title, but he's not good enough to keep Charlotte from likely being the worst team in NBA history. His future lies somewhere in the middle. Like Thomas, I can see him making major contributions as a sixth man for a playoff team. It just may take awhile for Charlotte to get there.

I'd take Biyombo over Ayon ten times out of ten.
investigate Adam Silver

That is not happening. #1 we have not one player who fits into D'Antoni's system. #2 MD type team is the exact opposite of what MJ wants which is, defense first. #3 You see how bad their offense looked when Tony Douglas ran it, well that's how it would look with Kemba.
If the Knicks hire Phil Jackson I can see MJ going after Woodson who's done a good job with the Knicks.

Honsetly I dont like seeing him on the bobcats, i feel like someone has him on a string and isnt allowing him to do his thing. I'd really like to see you guys become a good team though. I'm hoping a coaching change makes a huge difference for you guys.

Scoring 13 points and dropping 4 dimes after scoring in single digits a couple of games in a row.
