I guess if you can unload Nates contract for nothing and replace him with a young cheap guy I get it. But what the hell...could have had him in the third.

Ryan Broyles will be a top slot receiver in the right system and should be able to contribute on special teams and in the slot initially.

Potential Impact in the NFL

Broyles could end up as a starting receiver long term in the NFL and will be an instant contributor,

He'll serve as another option for Matthew Stafford and should give an already dangerous Detroit passing game that much more depth.

So we have 3 young receivers for the future so we can put up 100points but can't stop a team from putting up 110?

i just don't get lions can justify this pick when we have huge concerns in our secondary , was there not value there and we'd be reaching ?

Broyles is polished and consistent. Though undersized, he knows how to get open and make the catch. He could soon be an NFL starter based on his ball skills and route-running ability alone. His feel for space on the field and knack for understanding defenses boosts his value immensely

An incredible catcher, he can torque his body in any way necessary to get whatever is thrown near him.

i think we all get he's a amazing WR, our problem is we didn't need one as badly as we needed a corner, or T or LB

i'm hoping stafford has a A. Rodger type year. His career seems to be progressing in the same manner

Broyles is quick and agile, he can separate from defenders and is great in short-yardage situations. Based on his consistent production in the Big 12, his overall football savvy and his athletic ability, Broyles should be able to smoothly and quickly transition to the NFL.

You might be onto something. Certainly worth exploring.

He was very good one year then hurt his groin and fell off. Their primary malfunction was safety b/c he can't cover late in routes. Which would be a problem in DET too given our safeties.
