He's kind of like Tyreke Evans, but worse. He's a ball dominant guard who is not even close to good enough to dominate the ball. He has average to below average athleticism and wasn't even a great shooter (43/35/66). Shooting FTs at a 66% from him is unacceptable and frightening.

And then there's the issue with position. He is not a point guard. Has never played point guard. His size can be a concern, so measurements will be important. Still, I hope we stay away from Rivers.

everyone labels him a SG because he's ball dominant. But then again Curry and Reke were critcized about being able to play PG also and look at em now. If a team drafts Rivers they're essentially saying they want the ball in his hands, at PG of course thats a turn off but if you go a step further there is no one in this class who has better handles, first step quickness, and breakdown ablity than Rivers which can translate to one badass floor general. His game is much more suited for the NBA

I'll take Lillard over Rivers any day of the week and I don't even like Lillard.

Here's my (big) problem with Rivers....

His confidence (arguebly arrogance) works both for and against him.

Adv
- he has a ton of fight in him, wants to be the best
- not scared of the moment and is quite clutch as a result
- as a result will bring some media attention with him
- has great belief in himself

Dis
- his desire to take over creates tunnel vision; this not even disputable. he wants to take over so much that he forgets about his teammates. While his intention is right the way it feels to play with him and watch is that he's only looking for his
- he believes that he's better than what he actually is...he is the 2nd coming OJ Mayo. Their games are almost identical; as are their backgrounds. Two guys who dominated in highschool with great shooting and ballhandling but suffer since they buy into their own hype so instead of becoming better teammates as well; they have become so self-immersed...they are also combo guards that aren't big enough to be SGs but don't have the skill or team attitude to be PGs
- not good or WILLING passer. I hate when ppl blatantly lie and say he is one. There is NO evidence of this at any level (highschool or otherwise). All the result of everything stated. Looks for his own first and mainly; as a result never really developed the skill of passing or the instincts to look n find teammates

Rivers would be loved and hated here....he will have times he wins games or takes over and then everyone will be loving him and other times (which I think will be more often) he tries to do too much and badly ruins team chemistry (ie like Mayo did til they benched him n force him into a more fitting role - SIXTH MAN)

I'm a big fan of his style of play. I think he's going to get a lot of media attention too. We'd hear over and over that he's Doc Rivers' son, but I think he's still so talented he'll make some sort of impact.

Rivers is the pick, no way we take a 29 year old scoring point guard

I think we're going to hear Rivers' name come up a lot around here as we get closer to draft day. I think he'll impress a lot of people in workouts. He'll probably get labelled somewhere between being a rich man's Jerryd Bayless, and a poor man's Brandon Roy.

I'm talking about his shot mechanics and fluidity when driving.

Rivers is a lot like Barbosa. If we draft him, we give him the Barbosa role and let him chuck off the bench. That's still better than having Forbes be the backup sg.
We're not going to get a star at 8th. Rivers is not bad.

Lamb is considerably better based off of his college play and should continue to elevate his game. He's a sure fire all-star, I'm not sure about which members said DD would be but I know Lamb will.

I think so too. He'll impress in workouts because he is really skilled. I'm a little worried about his D, but I think he'll make a decent NBA player at minimum.

He’s the next Jerryd Bayless. Exact same style of play and measurements.
