Everytime I go into one of these threads it makes me re-evaluate who to take with 8th. So hard to choose, this is for sure a deep draft.

To bury his talent for 15-20mins is just wrong. I don't think he's KLove but I really think he could have a Milsap/Boozer effect in his prime. I wish we had a nice trade set up to ship out Bargnani for an upgrade on the wing or PG and I would be all over this BUT that's not happening so PJ3 and Lillard sadly remain my choice (pending Lamb not falling to us).
BirdmanPresents wrote:I see Sullinger as a less athletic Elton Brand. Watching Brand during the Philly-Chitown game really reminds me of watching Sullinger earlier this year. Don't see Sully being as strong as him, but he's got a big caboose to create space and get position. They have similar height and both play an under the rim style (again Brand being a bit more athletic).
I'm not saying Sully could be Brand in his prime, but I think he would be able to produce similar numbers to Brand in Philly consistently throughout his prime years:
15pts, 9rbs, 1+block, 50%fg

He is definitely not as exciting as some of the more athletic power forwards out there, but he will likely be a solid NBA player.

Sullinger is a polished big with a good motor who put up a 30.4 PER in his freshman year. He wouldn't be available at 8 in most drafts.
I'm getting a bit tired of hearing about our frontcourt glut. Ed Davis is far from a sure thing. Amir took a step back this year and still looks like a bench player to me. Bargs could be a very nice trade chip.
There's a good chance Sullinger is BPA at our draft slot and if that's the case, passing on him in favour of an inferior talent at a position of need would be pretty foolish for a team so devoid of talent.

Well do you really thing fans are going to keep showing up if all Colangelo is doing is drafting bigs year after year just to flip them when they don't work out for him? Bargs' job is safe for now everything I have read/heard/watched has suggested that Casey, Colangelo, Bargs, Jonas V and all the rest of the brass want to see how the 2 pair up together before moving them. I just am not a fan of Sullinger or Ohio State I can't stand that school at all so maybe that's why I wouldn't want Sullinger here to me he isn't a sure fire NBA thing where I would clear house at the 4 just to get him. If there is nobody there at #8 I move the pick + Calderon (hopefully) for a very good young PG like Lowry and see if that is enough.
