But I do have a feeling karma will get to nike.

LeBrons shoes, like Jordans, were never bought because of their designs. Fire him and let an intern make those shoes and slap LeBrons name on them and you have a top selling shoe regardless.

Jordan's were purchased for their design, and if Tinker Hatfield hadn't created a stellar design for the AJ III, MJ would have signed with another shoe manufacturer after his initial contract.

People would have worn cereal boxes on their feet if they had Jordan's name on them.

nike doesn't own any factories (neither does Adidas). They contract the work out to the factories.

and, 2/3rds of their suppliers are in asia

where did you even get that info?

Jason Petrie is LeBron's shoe designer.. He's not getting fired.

Also, the quality and technology of LeBron's sneakers >>>> Rose's "weightless" sneaker. Common sense.

if all the slave labor combined with the ridiculous prices doesn't create negative karma I don't know what will.

which could lead to an interesting discussion of whether the workers those countries would or would not be worse off without those companies being there..always an interesting debate in business classes

Classless comment, regardless of people's preferences. I like Nike, but objectively, this was overstepping decency.

The Nike guy said the exact same thing Charles Barkley said about Grant hill-that he was only injured because of wearing the Filas he endorsed.

That was in very poor taste.

Nike refused to give Rose a contract when he came into the league. They said he wasn't marketable enough, When Rose won MVP, Nike Chairman actually came out and said he was wrong about Rose.

This whole thing reminds me of the Dudley Moore movie, Crazy People. He's an ad exec who freaks out, and the whole thing revolves around the ads he comes up with are a marketing phenomenon.

"Porsche: It's a little too small to get laid in, but you'll get laid the minute you get out."

"Metamucil: It helps you go to the toilet. If you don't use it, you'll get cancer and die."

Now it is just happening in real life

"Nike: Use our sneakers or blow your knees out. It's your choice, sucka."

It's crazy for a guy, who is supposed to be a professional, to say something like that.

Haha, really?

Technology?

These are mass-produced shoes that are made in borderline 3rd world sweatshops and not highly sensitive microprocessors produced in uber-sterile hightech factories that could be destroyed by one single grain of dust.

All this technology talk, when it comes to basketball shoes, is pure marketing. Watching these commercial that stress the 'technology' inside basketball shoes make it seem that it is harder to manufacture a sneaker than it is to build a rocket.

Adidas shoes are as responsible for Rose's injury as Nike shoes are for Greg Oden's or Brandon Roy's.

Heck, players were playing in Chuck Taylors not too long ago without blowing out their knee's every other game.

Basketball shoes have been the new snake oil for the last 20 some odd years. I cringe when I see certain types of discussions about them on here.

Drose and d12 don't wear Nike

Nike is trolling like crazy

Nike is so happy because the heat have the easiest road to the finals in nba history w rose and d12 out.
And the only teams that can stop the heat in the west all wear Nike

Nike and the heat are karma proof

Love that the ESPN headline is "Lebron's Nike Designer Jeers Rose After Injury"
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.
