This is the first Clipper playoff game since 2006. Every year I wish and hope for us to make it back here. I have been disappointed and frustrated along the way but now we finally made it back. This team is much more different than the 2006 team, in fact no one from the 2005-2006 team is currently on the team. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are our leaders, we do have some playoff vets on this squad that makes me feel optimistic. With all that said Memphis wasn't my first draw. I was hoping the Clippers would face an easier team, but our fate has already been set. What has me worried a bit is that the Clippers finished the season losing 3 of the final 4 games. Granted that CP3 didn't play in our last one but it was still winnable. I want us to get rid of the sour taste left from the end of the regular season. Memphis has been playing well and over took us for home court in this series. They have been a good defensive team. If our team has offensive struggles like they've shown in the regular season I will be worried. I feel that this Clipper team is capable of beating any team along with losing to any team. It will be hard to tell how this first game will go. We will either play great or struggle to start. I'm hoping that everyone is ready to go and they young guys get in a groove and play well. First off congrats to the Clips for making the playoffs.

Now that's out the way.

Too bad you had to draw the Grizzlies. This series matchup will be tough and feisty to say the least.

Matchups to watch:

Griffin vs. Z-Bo: Blake profiles like Vince Carter from his early Raptors days. He likes to ride the rim and provide entertainment and rebounds. Z-Bo tends to be versitile on offense which can put the Clips defense on its heels. It's likely the Clips will attempt to double team Z-Bo in this series. Either way, this matchup looks good on paper and on court.

CP3 vs. MC11 and Tony Allen

CP3 been dealing with the groin issue the last 3 games of the regular season. How will that affect his play? Only he knows. CP3 will be a force to deal with from getting his teammates involve and slashing to the post. CP3 given the player he is may see Tony Allen in his face most of this series. One thing that's certain is that TA will make his man work for his pts. MC11 will have to keep flow of the game going strong for the Grizzlies on both ends.

X-Factors: OJ Mayo vs. Mo Williams

Whoever dominates in this game of X-Factor did the neccessary things to help guarantee his team the wins in this series. Knocking down their shots and doing the little things to help get their respective team the wins.

Part of me wants to watch the TNT broadcast since PT will re-air the game and NBATV/TNT probably won't, but I have to ride with Ralph.

I just hope Jordan is ready, I think he'll be the key with his help D on Z-Bo. Also think this series will make him look better due to him always switching on picks and the Grizzlies being amongst the leagues worst three point shooting sides.

Z bo played like a allstar in the last year's playoffs. If he is back in form, then Blake will have his hands full tonight.

Only way I see the Clips winning is, if CP3 is aggressive. Usually, he tends to make plays for his teammates. I want to see CP3 look for his own shot.

I expect Blake and Paul to perform well. Imo, a lot will ride on the shoulders of Randy Foye, Mo Williams, Caron Butler and Nick Young. We need at least 2 of those guys to perform and to be hitting their shots.

Memphis forces turnovers, we rarely turn the ball over. We suck at defending the 3, perimeter shooting isn't exactly a strength of the Grizzlies. How will their team adapt to putting Z-Bo in the starting line-up? How will the playoff first-timers (Blake, Foye, DJ, Gay, etc.) perform? Will Paul's groin be a hindrance? Some of those questions can be answered tonight, others will be answered over the course of the series.
