Marc Davis #8

Post#1 » by Octolor » Mon Apr 30, 2012 2:10 am

This guy thinks the NBA should eventually retire his number.

What an awful call and referee.

Refs shouldn't have egos this big.

He had a player screaming in his face.... T

Got bumped, there was no way to know if it was intentional. Gotta drop a T anyways... Goodbye Rondo.

Stupid move, but I do think it was somewhat of an accident.

Smith traveled, and if he did not have control of the ball then it was a jump ball.

Davis should explain the call.

That call looked correct, but I think Rondo had an issue with him all night.

Will getting ejected factor into this at all?

I doubt it, just because he was ejected with only 41 seconds left in the game. You can bet your ass that Rondo being suspended earlier in the season for throwing the ball at the ref will factor into the decision though, even though it shouldnt. Its not his first altercation with a ref this year, and unfortunately that wont be overlooked when making the ruling.

I expect a 1 game suspension and a rather hefty fine for Rondo. Hopefully this incident lights a fire under some of the guys, because we started this game tonight like we were facing the Bobcats, just completely flat with no energy or fire. Game 2 is going to be critical in how this series plays out.

Wow...this guy did screw us. He was 2 feet away from the out of bounds call with 2:14 left and called it off of Rondo when it clearly went off of Smith. TNT has just shown it a few times.

I agree 100 percent. Rondo was totally at fault. The dude didn't even blow the call it was just the emotion of the game taking over and Rondo lost control.

He'll get one game and frankly I think the Celtics will get the win in game 2 with Bradley playing more comfortable and easy.

Exactly. When we are playing are hearts out and batlling back, this ref blew the call. The ball was of Josh Smith. That's what pissed Rondo off. Then the last play, where Rondo was tossed, the same ref called a foul on the Celtics when about 3 seconds left on the shoot clock. 3 different players were on the ground, battling for a loose ball. You let the players play in a situation like that with 41 seconds to go.

Bottom line, this ref was paid off.

And refs can't throw games.

This ref cost us two possessions in the last 2:30 of the game. If anyone wants to know wh Rondo was heated at this ref, go back and watch the last 2:40 of this game. Watch the play where Rondo and Josh Smith go after the ball and Smith hits the ball and it goes out of bounds. And this same ref gives the ball to the Hawks. Watch how pissed Rondo gets at him. And the same ref pulls this bs act again with 41 seconds left. Three guys are battling for a loose ball on the floor, shot clocking is down to 3 seconds for the Hawks and this ref calls a foul on the Celtics and sends the Hawks to the line. BS call at a big moment. He could have called a jump ball, he could have called a foul on the Hawks, he could have let the players play.

Sigh...

Always an excuse.

No matter how terrible we play, it's never the teams fault. Have we ever lost a game legitimately?

The problem was Rondo already had yelled at him for the horrific call when it went out off Smith and he gave it to ATL. That meant that Davis was already irritated with Rondo and lead to the instant T during the second incident.

This isn't about the loss we all know thy lost because of how **** the whole team played. This is about the ref calling two bA calls in the final 3 minutes. Rondo got pissed got t'd up twice and ejected. It was stupid of rondo to lose his cool. But yes this loss could in fact be blamed on the refs.

I'm hoping he was jus ejected for the two t's and not for the bump preventing a possible suspension

It wasn't the correct call. A player getting dinked in the face after having a legitimate football DOG pile isn't the right call. That's a play-on. You can't allow a fumble pile and then blow the whistle when someone gets bumped in the face. He let the play go on a lot longer than it should have. He had at least 3 seconds to call the jump ball and he just stood there and waited and made a horrible decision. I understand why Rondo did what he did.

Twolves fan here... They're talking about Rondo being suspended... I think thats too much. He bumped the guy (didnt even look intentional) and got tossed. I feel like thats enough.

Joey Crawford is the guy who gets us. But we havent had to worry about a big game in about 8 years. haha

Anyway, good luck! I like the C's because of Garnett. Hope you guys at least make it to the ECF

Bad calls happen. Getting ejected from a still winnable playoff game and bumping a ref which is an automatic suspension if the league correctly deems it to be intentional? That's just stupid and inexcusable. Make a thread titled "Rajon Rondo #9" and talk about how dumb he is, that would be more appropriate.

Marc Davis was also that guy who single-handedly tried to win the game for the Hawks in that OT game at home. He hates the celtics and these WEAK-ASS calls cost the celtics big-time. Not saying they would have won with Davis calling the game fairly, but he CLEARLY hates the C's.
