So someone did hack into PItt's servers and mine some data (although only 2000 accounts are estimated to be effected from some insider info I obtained). They disabled a bunch of student accounts and released 0 information except last night when they told the local CBS affiliate that there was no breach.

It's sad. The student body has been extremely supportive, unified and understanding through the entire bomb threat situation only to have it end with the reward disappearing from Pitt's website and 0 word from the university. The PR team should be fired.

exactly why it's not likely anonymous - there MO is to defend students right not infringe on them, plus they have that whole CISPA boycott going on. most likely a fake, but the motive is apparently b/c Pitt cooperated with authorities to lead to the arrest of anonymous members despite the fact none have been arrested in Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh provides its own internet servers (aka if you're not student/staff, you don't use their ****).

I think that there is good that comes from liberal guilt but also a lot of misdirected passion or vitriol.

For example sweatshops, a lot of westerners abhor them when they actually put a lot of third world children through school which they otherwise would not have the capacity to do so
