Heat's FGs - 38
The difference? Heat made 6 more FTs, and 4 more 3s.
Battier averages 4 points on the season. He had 11 yesterday.
Miller averages 6 pts on the season. He had 11.
Chalmers averages 9 pts on the season. He had 13.
The role players are killing the Knicks, and it's because of the stupid defense. Constant switching, and terrible rotations. Cut their points down, and the Knicks should be right there in the game. Knicks have outrebounded Miami in both games, and yesterday were +7.
I think their problem is that they are paying way to much attention to one player and trying to stop him as a team.
They are a far better defensive team when each player has 90% of his attention on his own man, and only comes over on rare occassions to cut off penetration. They were giving like 80% attention to LeBron and STILL allowing him to get into the paint unhindered.
The Knicks defense is based on man-to-man defense and having quick hands to knock balls loose. They aren't a "on a string" type team defensive roster. They do rely on players to make the right rotations especially on situation when there could possibly be switches.
The Knicks haven't looked anything close to how they've looked under Woodson in this series, offensively or defensively.
It should would have been good to have Billy Walker right now, seeing how Gadzuric doesn't get any PT. Also, what happened to Toney Douglas? Is he not on the active roster?
It's hard being a Knicks fan...
