I was talking to my friend who is a big Rockets fan. He has even met and spoken to the GM (Morey)before.

Anyway he told me that the Rockets would do the following trade probably
Amare for Scola + Martin.

He said the reason is that the owner does not want to tank. He wants to stay competitive to make money. He would do it to sell jerseys, etc. As a fan he hates that he gets the 14th pick yearly because of this type of thinking. We made an agreement to rename 14th the rocket pick.

He also said that the Rockets don't really care much for Martin so he would be tradeable.

Based on that he said it is a realistic trade.

People have too much fantasy sports on the brain when they think up things like this. Seriously, life is much more complicated, and you can't just all of a sudden move players for giggles or you don't like them. But, feel free to keep thinking this. Might as well have a fantasy view of sports, if it makes one feel better. Nothing will happen, but you think it might. Or, if it doesn't happen, you can be smug thinking you are smarter than the current management and know better, because in your hypothetical universe, Knicks go undefeated under your genius.

Hi Rich we have known each other how long? This one action of him punching glass is in-excusable. I for one am tired of his show. He had a great 3 month run and disappeared hurt his back during a dunk in a pre game ok sh&* happens comes in unprepared for the season again (*&^ happens, does not play defense again a limitation in his game. He is asked to rebound and score he does neither well enough to carry on this team. I can live with the injuries I can live with personal issues but there are two things that really bother me. If he ever reads it at least I have the satisfaction of voicing my opinion of this act to him.
Before anyone calls me a hater I am equal I also tweeted to Melo about his horrible play as well. If they can trade Spree to the wolves back in 02 for cutting his hand and hurting the team why not Stat?

Scola would be a nice fit in the triangle. Martin's a good guy to take a gamble on; if he turns it around he'd be a great 6th man.

It's a lateral move on the court, and in hopes of having a star to make money for the franchise.

Two non defensive players for one massive non defensive player.

K-mart's only benefit is his expiring contract at this point next season.

He's a 12 million dollar 3 point shooter now, and can't shoot anymore.

I do like Scola somewhat, but he isn't a good defender either, might be almost as bad as Amar'e.

The fans go from booing the owner to being in love with him for Lin's return. Amare and Bogut could work together. NY takes back Bean's contract (who could still develop), Curry (hope his ankle is okay), and Lee.

GS wouldnt do that. GS would think Amare is a downgrade from Lee and Lin is a downgrade from Curry.

With GSW moving forward with Curry & Bogut no way they pick up Amare & Lin in a basketball sense.

GSW getting Lin would = big, big, big $$$ though so I wouldn't be surprised if they took that downgrade. But he's the future of the Knicks and a Dolan cash cow so Lin ain't being packaged anywhere.

Well, I was on another thread saying if Amare is paired with Lin (I dont know what the logistics of those sign and trade swould be) then you have an interesting proposition for the Nets. But, no, I dont think the Nets trade straight up Deron for Amare. I think the Nets would rather have cap room for future signings the following year than have Amare.

Could we trade him in a package for Gerald Wallace (sign and trade) including Fields for some other Nets players as well. If they kept D. Williams that would give them a 1-2 punch of Amare and D. Will plus Fields is a nice bench player. Not sure who else New Jersey would give up. I'm really just an Alabama fan and would like to acquire an old Alabama guy in Gerald Wallace. I do think he'd help us out though if we could get something else from the Nets. Gerald Wallace, Shump, and Chandler would be a sick lineup on D.
