ZERO transition defense. For the entire 3rd quarter, it was miss shot horribly -> sixers on fast break -> dunk.

I was hoping for a statement game from the Bulls, showing how they are more than just Rose. Instead they showed the opposite.

if it came to it. I'd rather lose to Philly than the Heat. I really would.

Good point.

I was thinking during the game where is our edge? This team needs to have some nastiness, even more so now without Rose.

When I made the comparison with Rip Hamilton and the Pistons in 04, that we could try and ride that model on defense and rebounding, one thing that now stands out to me in contrast is how much much attitude and moxy that Pistons team had despite having no superstars. They went up against 4 superstars in the Finals with absolute defiance and impunity, just trying to punk them.

Bulls don't have that. We are just a bunch of work hard nice guys who listen to their coach. That works great when you have the, albeit quiet, but swagger of Derrick Rose's talent backing you up in clutch situations. But less so when the try hard guys have to do it all themselves.

The team did show a little bit of that vs Miami during the regular season without Rose in the first mathup. But sadly it was on the fearlessness of little John Lucas having a great game. Like Thibs related, he may be our 2nd most confident guy. Not Boozer, not Deng alas. But he won't have many miracle games to lead the team in that way. The playoffs are a whole different animal too and our 'stars', Boozer, Deng, Noah (he did a good job) will have to step up in this area if we are to get much farther.

Maybe you can beat Philly just on better execution, but no farther unless this team stops feeling sorry for itself and just doesn't give a bleep.

The bright side is Skip Bayless has been proven wrong, the Bulls are not a better without Drose.

Not a good night, I hate to be the debby downer.

Boston won, will probably win the series now, it will be tough to beat them in the 2nd round. Looks like we have a bad matchup with philly now. They are able to play much better defense on us and can out run us on fastbreaks. We also lose homecourt. Thibs is dejected right now during the post game interview(he dyed his hair also).

I'm not throwing in the towel, but maybe we need to not have such high hopes for even the first round. When it pours it really pours.

I'll reiterate. I don't know whats happened to the Bulls rebounding lately. Its been mediocre, and its not the Bulls formula, Rose or no Rose.

Still can't believe how easily Philly was able to score on us. Hope they got it all out of their system. Let's go get 'em Friday night. And farewell to all the bandwagon Bulls fans.

Thibs' notion that the players don't need to do anything new, just do their specific jobs better, is interesting. Roles have been built with Rose in mind.

I'm with Rerisen that the hockey rotations need to end. You're not going to win the matchup game against the Sixers. Get the best players onto the floor.

This team is devoid of offensive talent.

same thing happened in the 1st game in the 4th. they were losing 16-6 in about 4 minute stretch from 5:48 in that game. he made one sub. bring in boozer at 3 minute mark.

Boozer was a big part of why they fell apart in the 3rd. Did you watch the game?

Philly's guns won't blaze like that again most likely, but it'll be interesting to see which side of the Bulls' personality comes out in game 3.

Small part of me is a little concerned that that team doesn't have a Derrick Rose to guard anymore.

As I said

If we can't beat Philly without Rose, we can't beat Miami with Rose.

Someone has to step up. If they can't, we'd see a repeat of what happened in the Miami Series last year yet again.

Maybe long term this is the best for the Bulls because we're going to learn a lot about what we have around Rose so hopefully moving forward we'll know what to do.

Philly hit some tough shots but they ran a layup drill in the 3rd. Good teams will hit tough shots, you have to avoid giving up the easy ones.

And Rose didn't cause them to put up 108. The Bulls defense has been good with and without him. They just didn't have much energy all night. Pathetic 3rd quarter and disappointed that they just quit on the fans.

Ok Kendall, asking Lucas to pass more is asking for more turnovers. Dude CANT PASS.
