PG: Philly evens series on lights out shooting

Them beingmdownn7 represents a 16 point swing by the time they took boozer out. I'm normally not one of the "amnesty boozer" brigade, but I seriously considered joining them tonight. He makes WAY too much money to be as ineffective as he was tonight. He was brought in to be our 2nd best player. Currently, he is 4th and rip is closing in on him fast.

i wasnt gonna say this before the playoff was over, but i too believe boozer doesnt fit this team led by tom thibodeau.

hes not a good defender, so he isnt gonna get clutch minutes when they need stops. and the offense is a secondary thought here. boozer had luxury to play his game (offense) and didnt have to think or play defense in utah. that is one of the reasons why he was so successful as a player. the guy can score in a right system, but this really isnt it. the bulls dont utilize him enough and the system really doesnt suit boozer's capability as a scorer.

A unit with CJ/Lucas AND Boozer is not gonna get many stops.

Yep, it's one thing to cover for Booz's defense when the other 4 guys are bringing it, but it's quite another when the opposing PG is crushing CJ & Lucas. Thibs is struggling to find playing time for Boozer because the team defense is just so bad when he and C.J. are both playing. Then again, Booz had a decent +/- today because even though he wasn't very good offensively, he was a damn sight better than Taj.

I might be in a party of 1, but I truly think Mike James is the best PG on the Bulls and should start.

Our offense will have far less room for error.

Which is why our offense shouldn't consist of CJ and Lucas ball-sticking and trying to replace Rose's scoring. It should be maximizing what Deng, Rip, Boozer, Korver and Noah are good at. I don't think we did that tonight. It felt like we tried to make everyone a hero at some point.

I am believing that Thibs should shorten the bench and play Mike James over Lucas (he is just too small for Jrue or Williams). Glue Brewer, and Asik to the bench.

By the way, for all the talk about how much better Boozer is this season and how he'll make up for his playoff performance last year, he is pretty much doing exactly what I expected/feared he would this postseason.

Thibs put Butler on Melo but is not ready to put him in a game where Rose isn't there on a Philly with a little bigger back-court than the Bulls

I called out Shaq for saying Boozer should step up and get 30 and 20.

But perhaps was too harsh. Shaq lives in an NBA years past when he was still playing. That is why he overrates Boston as well.

However, I have to say when we signed Carlos I at least thought he could step up and maybe do 25/10 games in big situations. Now the expectations have fallen so far. I'm happy if he gets 17 and 9 and doesn't have more than 2 boneheaded plays on defense.

Shaq's analysis is actually what people thought Boozer was capable of offensively and rebounding as of when when we gave him the 80m.

Bosh actually had a whole string of games in this fashion when Wade and/or Lebron was out. But without Rose, I'm talking myself into 34 year old Rip Hamilton recapturing his youth as our best hope, without nary a thought for how Boozer can solve the situation.

Just numb, accepting to that whole situation now.

Thibs' stubborness is still a mystery. Why not give Butler and Mike James a chance? Jesus, is he wedded to Lucas or something?

But if Boozer didn't provide at least scoring, and rebounding however to be fair Thibs needs to get him more involve some how but regardless he struggles, or not do much as him, then I would like to bring Gibson in immediately, or try to play small with Deng at the four, and bring Korver in.

Yes, yes, yes, and maybe.

I will say, Brewer time is over. There are 96 minutes for Deng, Korver, and Rip to share -- 32 minutes each. Do it. Brewer kills our offense when he is out there, all the teams know to body up Korver and/or Deng, pack the paint, force the ball to Ronnie, and wait for him to brick an open 16 footer. He's fine as a bumslayer and in the open court, but in the half court in the tough climate of the playoffs, he is an Offense Killer. Ronnie is why shortened playoff rotations were invented.

Taj hasn't been any better in the first 2 postseason games. This team really needs offense right now. Not a smart idea to bring a player like Boozer off the bench and ruin the spacing in the starting lineup even more.

I think Mike James should be given some minutes. Maybe that way we can get some easy buckets with Boozer in the paint. We're a pretty bad/average jump shooting team, so we need all the easy buckets we can potentially get.
