14-3 In Eastern Conf. playoff games 10-0 at home

Post#1 » by Heat11114 » Tue May 1, 2012 2:36 am

For all this talk of NY giving us trouble this year, Boston and Chicago last year... Our playoff record against EC opponents stands at 14-3 in the big 3 era. We are 10-0 at home.

Ironic how the only team that seemingly nearly everyone thought didn't have a chance is the one that beat us. It also happens to be the only one that is a smallish market, so maybe that has a little more to do with it.

Had never really crunched those numbers. Good stuff.

I think more people thought we were going to beat Dallas just because we had just beaten the Bulls so easily (which was a bit of fool's gold because in that series our jumpers were falling late in games at an unsustainable rate)

If I remember correctly the only team that we had worse odds against than Dallas was Chicago.

More people gave us a better chance against Boston (not to mention Philly and the Knicks since you included them in your numbers) than Dallas.

Not that unique that the team that people thought had the second best chance of beating us did beat us. There was just less talk of it because we had just beaten Boston and Chicago. The smarter people who put up money instead of just talk had us with better odds against Boston than against Dallas (I believe)

I think they just let themselves go when they reached the Finals, especially after Game 1. They thought it was going to be easy. If you watched LBJ in the Finals, it was a different LBJ. He was unrecognizable. Tired? Who knows.

But it's like they got a huge sigh of relief getting out of the East, beating Boston (one of their goals coming together, was to beat Boston, besides winning a title), and then the Bulls.

They thought, we're finally out of the East, all is ours. But not when you run into a team full of vets who were hungry for a ring.

I expect differently obviously. But last year was an impressive run through the playoffs until the Finals.

If this team continues to play like it is now, it's miles better than last year. We have a better cheer leading bench too, rather than just vets riding the bench for a ring lol.

I have no doubt this team can get out of the East, but it's the Finals where we would face a team that comes out of a tougher conference.

The real season = post-season.

Players like LBJ and Wade can do everything imaginable in the reg season and yet their worth will be determined what they do in the 2nd season.

This just seems like rationalizing the loss.

I mean **** happens its basketball. The better team doesn't even always win.

And yeah I don't think anyone doubts we can get out of the East (we were the pretty easy favorites even before Dwight and Rose got knocked out)

Even in the Finals we will be favored against any team we face but yeah it will be a tough series then.

We seem better than last year but I'm not sure I would say "miles better"

Remember we have only played two games so far and they were against the Knicks.

If only we had held on in Game 2. I think if we would have won Game 2. Lebron's game doesn't go into the tank. We finish the Mavs in 5. That game 2 really sucked.

Wow, I can't believe some of you guys still have the nerve to talk about and remember that '11 Finals.

Cuz **** that, I want to forget every single **** during that span. Anything associated with it, **** that.

And nothing will ever heal the wound that it left other than winning 14 more from now on.
