Don't think he's the ideal replacement for an aging Drogba, they should be looking to bring in someone with more physicality than Higuain is used to.

That should've been your first hint :D

 you're right to question the sun, but I've seen at least 10 other news sources printing the same story, along with the obvious Pep Guardiola to Chelsea rumors. Personally, I see Chelsea going after Benzema more than Higuain. Higuain will probably have a harder time adjusting to the Premier League given his height/weight compared to Karim. Travesty to lose either one as a Madrid fan but I'm sure Mourinho's got his eye on one of Aguero or RVP as a replacement.

I agree, Karim is a great fit for premier league.

I agree. With this supposed "transfer war chest," it wouldn't be surprising to see one big signing. I'm still gonna hope that we get a miracle and somehow end up with both Gotze and Hazard. :D

Götze will play at least another season in Dortmund. Depending on CL success I could see him staying longer there, too.

I've got a feeling Arsenal will end up with Podolski, Vertonghen, and Gourcuff this summer.

Marin to Chelsea for 8 Mil. € :o

I bet he's gonna regret that transfer considering he will likely sit on the bench most of the time.
Marin was amazing a few years back but he has never taken the next step.
Dude will end up like Eljero Elia for Juventus. Sure bet that he won't get much playing time.

Hopefully, Bremen doesn't reach the Europa League. That would be embarassing for the Bundesliga.

Yeah, good deal for Chelsea. Young player with potential who is at worst a decent backup. For Marin it's a bad deal if he wants to develop as a player, though. :dontknow:

The Germany international earned himself the nickname 'the German Messi' following a string of fine performances early in his career, but his progress seems to have stagnated as he has failed to make much of an impact in Bremen in the last couple of years.

German messi? Are you :censored: kidding me?
Marin is a strictly me-first player who does nothing really well beside dribbling his ass into turnovers. He does have talent, sure, but so do quite a few other players. Podolski at 6-10 mil (depending on whether Cologne gets relegated) is a way better deal than Marin for 7mil.

Heard he's very much like Sturridge which probably means I won't like him very much. At least it sounds like he's more of a natural winger than Sturridge. 7M is a pocket money for Roman anyway.

We certainly don't need a other Sturridge, although one thing I am looking forward to in him is that he's a right sided player (is he naturally?). Hopefully, we finally have a right sided winger that we can rely on besides Kalou.

I shall reserve judgement for Sturridge, this is his first season in the PL, hopefully next year he can take in from what he's learned this year and be more of a team player. The funny thing about that 1st sentence was that at the end of last season and beginning of this season you were buzzing off Sturridge

He's supposed to be able to play anywhere, but LW is his most natural position I am told.

I loved Sturridge at Bolton, and couldn't dislike him when he was the only one scoring goals, but man has been been terrible last few months.

I was really excited for Sturridge this season, but he really needs to work on his decision making at the end of this season. Really jealous of the Podolkski signing.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh to Marin... his problem is his lack of athleticism and the fact that he doesn't play a lick of defense. He can only play on the wing, preferably with a very solid fullback behind him. Given that, he's decent and can cut thru slow defences and set up other players. Bremen has been playing a rather old fashioned 442 diamond for years, which left him without a place to start. He's no wide midfielder and certainly no No.10. Theo Walcott or SWP are comparisons I can see... expect something comparable.

LOL at the notion that Marin is the "German Messi". He is fast and has a nice shot, but he can only attack (he actually hustles on D, but he is the worst tackling midfielder of the entire NT) and is too easily intimidated by physical defenders. In comparison, Özil's technique is three classes better, Podolski scores more goals, Götze has 40 points more soccer IQ, and Müller's ability to play off the ball is much better. But still, Marin still has upside, and I think that the change of scenery could benefit him.

Edit: Marin reminds me a bit of Marco Reich (remember that guy?), but in contrast to Reich, Marin at least is a humble, down to earth guy.

Marco Reich? Now that's just down right insulting.

And Reich had at least some kind of self-irony about him. That joke about now being only a 3mil transfer mistake was not bad.

Fun Marco Reich fact that I just noticed: For some totally :censored: reason, Kickers Offenbach paid 0,75 mil € for him in '07. Really? Offenbach had nearly a million euro to spend and they blew it on Marco Reich? I really struggle to think of a worse transfer EVAR, considering all things.
