RIP: Junior Seau found dead

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Wed May 2, 2012 6:32 pm

TMZ reports that former Patriots and Chargers LB Junior Seau was found dead Wednesday in his Oceanside (CA) home.
TMZ's report cites multiple law enforcement sources. Police are currently investigating the 43-year-old's death, but initial rumors are that it may have been a suicide. In October of 2010, Seau was arrested for felony spousal assault with injury after allegedly driving his SUV off a cliff in Carlsbad. Following the incident, Seau denied vehemently that he had attempted suicide. Source: TMZ.com

No matter how he passed, it is just tragic news. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, loved ones and friends.

Hearing this news, hopefully the people who say the NFL were too harsh on the Saints bounty scandal clam up. It's a violent sport as it is, there's no need to further inflict damage for a couple of thousand extra bucks.

Damn.

I bet they relate the suicide to brain damage sustained when he was playing football.

I wonder if at some point the game of american football will be completely revamped or even banned. this head injury stuff is getting serious.

I rather have my legs broke than a concussion . Very overlooked injury.

My first thought was to wonder if this is that concussion brain damage disease/injury that has led to so many deaths from former NFL, NHL and even pro wrestlers like Chris Benoit. RIP Junior.

The NFL should be prepared to lose that lawsuit. If this is due to brain damage (very likely that it is) McMahon and his lawyers will have a field day.

Actually, the family had his brain examined by the doctors from the former WWE tough enough wrestler Chris Nowisktki or whatever his last name was and they determined he had the same kind of repeated brain injury/concussion disease that all those other players had. He was operating for years as a 85 year old man with late stage Alzheimer's. He didn't have any control over his actions because of it just like these NFL/NHL players. Very sad.

Ah, didn't know that. Interesting though, how these guys took out themselves, whereas Benoit killed his wife and small child along with him. I have no sympathy bro.

Dave Duerson had died before. Is this all a concidence, or maybe the ex players are right about the brain damage they endured throughout their playing day.s
