As I said before, Jonas will come over with pressure.. The pressure of being the starting C asap, and to impact defensively in our team.. hes 19, ik, but a lot of ppl have said hes ready since FIBA is tougher than NCAA, so now, lets not be hypocrite..

Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread III
He is not going to be the starting C, unless he shows something impressive in the preseason, I just think the chance of that is small.
Bynum had the body and skill, and it took him a while. Tyrus Thomas anyone? Kanter anyone? Kanter has the body and he barely gets burn.
This is not an easy league. Guys that set their college's records come into this league, and are gone. The NBA game is about matchups. A coach has little impact. Casey has had about as much impact as I thought was possible, and we are still a lottery team.
No amount of good coaching will transform sub par talent to beat the good players in this league. If you have the Shaq, the Kobe, the Rose, you are set, because there is no way to stop that.

CSKA would beat Charlotte in four straight in a playoff series and they would probably win a game or two against a few other lottery teams. CSKA might be the best team in EUrope and they are superbly organized and coached. They gameplan like an NBA team. And this game meant something to them, it wasn't some random mid season game.
Extreme underrating of CSKA. They are way better than that.

CSKA beats Miami in 6.

That is the beauty of CSKA, they don't need LBJ to beat up on highschool talent.
(There are players in USA highschools that would be pros in that league)

The NBA players that played in "that league" during the lockout had worse stats on average in "that league" than in the NBA this season. Some of them really struggled in that "high school" league.
It's amazing how NBA players could play worse in a high school level league than in the actual NBA.

^well that must prove that the euroleague is the better league.
EDIT: Let the CSKA guys play 82 games, those who have not coughed up their lungs due to cigarette smoking, will most likely be nursing injuries that will make them look a lot worse than the Bobcats. I doubt CSKA would even have the players left to complete an NBA season, they will be dropping like flies before the allstar game. The NBA is a mans league, the euroleague is a kids league.
I have yet to see a 1st yaer euroleaguer last all 82 games.

I expect Valanciunas to be pushed around for at least 3 years. We are going to have lots of jumpers on this forum. Guys will be crying and begging to axe Bryan... but I still will hold on to Val, and take my chances.
...even knowing that his next 3 years are going to be less then satisfying, I will draw four and keep his card.

CSKA already played 63 official games this season, and they are not done yet, so I dont know how NBA 82 game schedule is so more exhausting.
In fact, Rytas played 69 games, and they dont even have a private airplanes and stuff...

Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread III
The parity in the league is horrible, only a handful of those teams can even compete with them on any given night.
In the NBA, the worst team can beat the best. Bobcats may not be the best example, that is one horrible team... however, usually every year the worst team beats the best in the NBA.
The lottery teams stay within a shot, sometimes even go to OT for their losses.
No, we are talking 82 games of the best basketball on the face of this planet. Where players like Grant Hill, just did not have the right breaks, and are almost forgotten. Grant ****ing Hill!

Another one of those "Euros are soft and Euro teams suck ass just like Euro ball" haters, but in reality it's quite the opposite - the gap is shrinking every year. Also how can long NBA season justify NBA ballers sucking ass in Europe when they were fresh and never had any fatigue. Plus as one of the above posters mentioned, they have simmilar number of games in Europe while not having private jets and sometimes even going by bus for hundreds of kilometers.
Posts like that actually make you look clueless so better restrain from posting all together.

EDIT: I tried watching your product, all I did was cringe and think of downy

Idk if our team sucks at all, you know, for moments, it seems like we were fighting for a playoff spot, Bargs was playing at his peak, and even when he returned, we beat Suns and Jazz on the road.. actually, it is safe to say that this season ended for the Raps the day Bargs injured his calf for the second time..
just to add what the guy with dog in the avy said..

EDIT: Weems is a Raptor so he has the europe thing all figured out. You just have to watch Bargnani.

In all fairness, they don't have to. If they support Jonas, they support us, lol, at least for as long as Jonas is a raptor. ...but don't insult the tank commander, you might piss them off that way too.
It's okay, all Europeans are welcome, we love teaching basketball over here. You guys have to learn the game eventually.
