Since when was that the choice?

You must have missed the past few weeks. People were calling to trade Dwight and keep Stan to build around this "heart & hustle" team.

No. Maybe keeping Stan if Dwight definitely wants out. But definitely not keeping this current core.

I personally think that a good amount posters on this board have expressed the idea that they rather keep Dwight over Stan if there was a choice. That includes people like me that are pro stan(im neutral on Dwight right now). The goal is winning a championship and Dwight gives us the best chance of getting us there.

There may have been a few - but the majority of the posters were not saying to build around this set of players.

People said we were playing more balanced and team ball more so since D12's injury.

There's a very large difference between those 2 sentiments.

Not with the way D12 said the right way to play is = inside then outside.

Stop arguing about Keeping vs Trading Dwight.

It isn't even the Magic's decision. It's all on Dwight.

And unfortunately, I feel like he has his mind set elsewhere.

Calm yourself. . . . let me rephrase that. SOME people thought Ryan was better than Ellis.I could easily name names but I won't

I'm calm. People need to stop generalizing. And if that list of names adds up to more than 10 people(I'm being generous here) then you have a case.

Damn! 28 people thought he was untouchable? :nonono:
Yes 28 people thought he was untouchable and had a potential to be a star. That doesn't say "Ryan is better than Ellis". An overwhelming majority of people wanted Monta Ellis over here. I remember people saying they would be sad to see him go, but the upside of having Ellis would be awesome.

I honestly might pick a new favorite team/ boycott if we screw that up after getting him to pick up the extra year.

I know it's fun to play the "haha told ya" game, but let's be realistic...

If we had traded Anderson for Ellis or anyone not named Lebron James or Kevin Durant, We'd be gutting the team even further (likely losing jameer and JJ as well) and in this same series, we wouldn't have Dwight. Therefore, Indiana keys in on Monta or whatever 2nd-tier "star" we got in return and we are all cursing and blaming our awful roster on them.

Face it, This isn't Stan's fault or Ryan Anderson's fault or even Dwight's..... Otis Smith's JOB is to have foresight/scouting ability and he is just absolutely incompetent.

Yes. He has a mid-range J. We don't have to be a team with a stretch 4. Good teams have solid power forwards that crash the boards, D up, and hit elbow jumpers. We can actually be normal and good at it too. Regardless, we know BBD is going to hustle and play hard.

How could anyone look at our roster at the start of the season and think, "they could really make a run in the playoffs"? we dont even have a backup center! the POs are ALL ABOUT stocking up big men, having a balanced/deep team, some young talent and veteran LEADERSHIP....

I'm sorry, but I was proud of the guys for game 1. I didn't expect anything more. Otis is an absolute fool. This isn't Stan's fault btw. "we need more energy" is the only way he can say something without actually saying anything. I would bet he wants to say that our team is just outmatched, and the roster is atrocious.

That's not the point, it's the fact that this team is getting blown out. That's the frustration. I don't have an expectation one way or another for this team to win or lose the series, but I expect our team to play as hard as they can for 48 minutes. I'm tired of this team laying down when it gets hard. I can cheer for a team that tries but I can't cheer for a team that quits.

No one was saying to build around this team minus Dwight.

People were saying they would rather watch the H & H teams than the D12 offense centered (and the associated drama this year) this season.
So what does that mean?

People were saying we should build the team around Ryan, Jameer, etc. Saying Dwight should only focused on playing defense or trade him for Deng + Noah.

I even sarcastically said then maybe we should trade Dwight for Chandler, hoping people see how ridiculous it is to trade a top 5 player in the league and build around these one-dimensional shooters.

Troy Murphy was a really good ball handler and passer for a bigman and an elite rebounder when he was on the Pacers. Probably my least favorite player of all time too.

I was talking about 2012 Laker Troy Murphy.. because that is exactly whom Ryno is playing like this series

Um....no.
There were tons of "keep SVG, trade Howard" interjected in many of the threads we had going on here. I don't have time to go through them, but whenever I'm free, I will.

Yes, this is on the bases if Howard didn't want to be here in Orlando regardless of our coaching staff. I hate to speak for those people, but the sense I get from reading this board on a day to day basis is most people would pick Dwight over SVG. A small sample of this board were tired of the drama centered around Dwight and just wanted to rebuild.

I already admitted that:

I know the majority of us here wanted Ellis even if we had to give up Ryan.
