Re: Draft winners and losers
An article on Sports Illustrated said that the Bengals picked up nine potential new starters in the draft. I need to see how that unfolds.

Re: Draft winners and losers
Seattle is defiantly the biggest winner. i think they just drafted two pro bowlers
I had Irvin and Wagner in my top 5 of best defensive players
Bruce looks like a Aldon Smith or Von Miller clone and Wagner will be the next Chad Brown, or Jessie Tuggle, a boring LB, but who will get 100 tackles every year that he starts.
i wanted my Falcons to get one of the two, Irvin or Wagner with their first pick, but Seattle did an amazing job in getting both of them.

Re: Draft winners and losers
i think the Jets also did well.
i don't like Quinton Coples, i think he is another Jamal Anderson (from Arkansas), big, strong, and slow. it took Jamal two years to get his first sack and now he is out of the NFL. even though i'm not a fan of Coples, i do think he is an okay gamble at #16
i said that Stephen Hill is Calvin lite, and i stand by it. Hill won't be as good as Calvin, but he will be better than Demaryius Thomas. Hill has a shot at turning into a legit pro bowl receiver.

Tannehill, Jonathan Martin, and Lamar Miller.... it looks like a good blue print for a future offense.
I like what Miami did. they got three guys with first round talent. i don't think you are going to see instant success from these three guys, but 3 or 4 years down the line, these three could potentially be the Big Three for the Dolphins

Bruce Irvin: 6'3, 248lbs, 4.50 40yard
Von Miller: 6'3, 245lbs, 4.50 40yard
Aldon Smith: 6'4, 258lbs, 4.74 40yard
i heard my Jets wanted Irvin in the second round, and when Irvin was drafted in the first round, it seemed like ESPN and the internet just blew up

i don't know anything about Irvin, but media attention he and Seattle has been getting, im defiantly interested in watching what Irvin can do this year, even though he is not on the Jets, just to see if he is a boom or bust.
I also heard Wagner was getting alot of buzz before the draft, his stats seem to back it up. it seems like that the Seahawks did some major reaching to get some highly buzzed about guys, i don't know if it is a gamble or if it is smart, we will just see.

I love what the Rams did in terms of trades to acquire more picks, but I don't think they capitalized well and I don't see them improving much next year from this draft.

Bruce Irvin is underrated. I like him a lot more than some other picks in the first round. The Titans had the worst pick in the draft taking Kendall Wright as high as they did. I don't see him doing much at the next level.

i like what the Bills did. i think most people think Stephon Gilmore was a reach, but the pick also reminds me of when the Bills took Donte Whitner in 2006, and Whitner was a reach but turned out to be a good player. Gilmore reminds me of Donte Whitner and Johnathan Joseph.
Cordy Glenn was also a great pick up when he fell to the second round, he is a mountain of a guy, strong, good hands, but slow, i think any RB can get 120 yards a game with him leading the way.

the Von Miller reference is a good comparison. Irvin reminds me of Lawrence Taylor, now remember, i'm NOT saying that Irvin is LT, but he REMINDS me of LT, because just like LT, when i watch Irvin, he looks like he is fast and doesn't care about his own personal safety. Irvin just looks like he plays dangerously reckless when he is going after the QB which was what LT was know for.
you forgot about Russell Wilson. he is a great pick up in the middle round. he is a good project QB. he is undersized, but good arm, good feet, high IQ, great vision. he threw 3,500 yards at 70% last year, 33TDs, 4INTs, so the numbers are jaw dropping impressive. Wilson reminds me of Jeff Garcia
Seahawks fans should be excited because the team just got 3 very interesting players. Seattle drafted some gambles, but i would still give them an -A

I don't know how sexy it is when your top 4 picks are a guard, tackle, linebacker, and nose tackle, but I'm awfully happy with the way the Steelers' draft played out. I think they have to be considered one of the winners of the draft.

Steelers solidified the interior of their offensive line for the next 5-7 years.

ahummmmm...... Indianapolis Colts!
yeah yeah, we all know about Luck, but i love the 3 next picks TE Coby Fleener, TE Dwayne Allen, and WR T.Y. Hilton. all three guys have Velcro for hands. Colts are going address their defensive needs with "TIME OF POSSESSION"..... brilliant.
I also love what the Seattle SeaHawks did! i don't really care about the Bruce Irvin thing, i don't have strong feelings one way or the other about Irvin (personally i think Irvin is an okay gamble for a pass rusher but not great),
but i'm surprised that nobody mention Mr Incredible... Russell Wilson!!!
the dude is sick with game, he will be the next Drew Brees for sure. just like Brees, Wilson is undersized and has been underrated in high school and college, and has always played with a chip on his shoulder because of it. Wagner and Jaye Howard also look like good picks

Re: Draft winners and losers
the Atlanta Falcons also did a great job in the draft. they are on my list for "+A" teams in the draft.
Falcons didn't have a 1st round pick but ended up with a 1st round talent in Peter Konz. I thought Konz as the 3rd best offensive linemen in the draft and the Falcons some how got him in the second round, just amazing. Konz for sure will be a pro-bowler for the next 10 years.
Falcons also got the next Lorenzo Neal in FB Bradie Ewing. their is a reason why Montee Ball got a jaw dropping 33 rushing TDs. Montee is a great talent, but if you watched Montee run, you would see Bradie Ewing was in every play for Montee, leading the way and clearing a path along with Konz.
i think Montee Ball is a legit first overall pick, but RBs are rarely picked in the top 5. if the Falcons can some how replace grab Montee in the first round in next years draft, Atlanta is going to be sick with talent. Jonathan Massaquoi also looks like a good pick.

Except that Bruce Irvin lacks pretty much everything that makes Von Miller a great player. They both have great speed off the edge, and that's where the similarities stop.
They're body types are totally different, Von Miller doesn't play run defense on roller skates, Von Miller has a legitimate power game. Von Miller has a plethora of pass rushing moves. Von Miller is more than potential in coverage.
If one similar trait and similar height and weight comparison is the only similarity that needs to be made, than Ersan Ilyasova is a Dirk Nowitzki clone. Alex Smith is an Aaron Rodgers clone and Prince Fielder is a CC Sabathia clone.
If you were to say that Bruce Irvin is a homeless man's Von Miller, I would agree with that statement. There's a reason that Von Miller was picked where he was picked. He's a freak and one of the best pass rushers to come out in a long time. Bruce Irvin is a one dimensional speed rusher with a river of red off the field.
They're not clones. Von Miller comes off the board 3rd in this draft.

Cincinnati is the biggest winner in the draft for the robbery job they committed on the Raiders.
Kirkpatrick is a lock down corner and Zeitler will be a solid starter for years. Sanu and Orson are also good picks
