Saw this about 10 minutes ago and my jaw dropped. I grew up on The Beasties so this is just a damn shame. Even though his death is unclear, I really thought he would be fully cancer free. RIP, these guys truly are legends of hip hop and broke so many barriers for the whole genre.

It's sad when anyone dies, especially at only 47. So I'm sad for that.

But selfishly, I'm mostly just sad that the Beastie Boys won't be able to put out any new music or perform together again. What a f*king shame. I hope that comes off as a testament to MCA because it really is.

Sucks man. Grew up with them. Pioneer, Legend... can't say enough about him. Will definitely be missed.

Really sad news. I'm a huge fan of the Beasties. I only got to see him up-close once, and that was in the subway station back in '99. He was just trying to blend in wearing a T-shirt and jeans, carrying his skateboard with him. So unassuming, but I immediately recognized him, but was too star-struck to even say hello.

RIP, MCA.
