Let's go Philly!

Post#1 » by Boneman2 » Sun May 6, 2012 8:30 pm

They are about to make things interesting in the Eastern Conference.

Miami would face the 76er's and we'd face ATL or Boston....

I wouldn't mind another home court series because I think the local fans would redeem themselves, and I would love to face the Heat in the ECF's, as opposed to the 2nd round.

But I guess I should focus on game 5 first.

NBA doesn't reseed the playoffs unless that's in the new CBA and I haven't heard about it. We'd still face Miami in round 2.

As FreeRon said the NBA does not reseed. We won't face the winner of ATL / BOS. We'll face the winner of MIA / NYK if we advance.

I guess its been so long that I have adapted to the NFL's superior format, oh well.

Just another reason the NBA fails.

potentially 2vs.3 and 5vs.8.

There is nothing wrong with it. Most people want the two best teams in the ECF. Most people would probably say Boston is better than us and if they are healthy it's not something ridiculous to say.

I guess if Boston is playing up to their capabilities it really is a crapshoot between them and Miami.

Ultimately in a tournament format, if there are a large number of participants reseeding is irrelevant, but when that number is small, reseeding makes a lot of sense because an easier path was earned by Miami, should Chi-town fall off.

I bet if the Pacers knock off Miami, Stern will change the format before next season, and guess what it'll probably screw us again.

I cannot believe the NBA does not reseed, what a joke. This season is the perfect example of why it is a must. The 76'ers beating the Bulls should not give them an easier path then the Pacers, or the Miami heat for that matter. Why are we so behind the other major leagues in this area? All I can hope is that this seasons perfect storm brings about change.
