My MIL/SAC/PHX 3 way:

MIL get: Gortat/Evans
Evans/Ellis/Delfino/Ilyasova/Gortat

Bucks get the top two players in this trade, Evans to replace a disgruntled Jennings, and Gortat, to give them that Bogut type presence that they are seeking.

SAC get: Dudley/Udoh/Bucks future 1st.
Thomas/Thornton/Dudley/Udoh/Cousins

Kings ship out their failed SF experiment, and get a real hustle player at the SF spot in Dudley (on a great contract). The pick up a young PF/C with potential in Udoh to challenge Thompson for that starting PF spot. They also pick up a future 1st.

PHX get: Jennings/Williams/Sanders.
Jennings/Lamb/Williams/Morris/Lopez (or Sanders).

New PG to take Nashs old spot. Check!
A young C that has shown some potential, but could use some more time to develop. Check!
Terrence F'N Williams! Check!

Every team gets to keep their own 2012 pick.

Can someone explain the Mayo love to me?

I posted this over at .net cause I just don't get it: What's funny is that all these people on RealGM have been screaming for OJ Mayo for the last year. Dudley shoots almost 10% better from the field (.48 to .40), slightly better from the 3pt line (.38 to .36), and he scored as many ppg (12.7 to 12.6). Mayo is a better passer and Dudley a better rebounder.

I'll just say that I think Dudley is a starting SF at a good salary. I'll also say please don't throw $8M a year at Mayo.

Someone else wrote that Mayo looks the part, NBA build, fast, etc, but something's just .. missing. I guess I agree with that, because I think he should be better than his numbers indicate, but he's not. We need stars and he's just not one. You can argue about the Nash effect or whatever, but I'd honestly rather have Dudley. He's cheaper and is just a cooler dude imho.

Mayo also averages 5 minutes less than Dudley, and is playing on a team with scorers. Gay is the 1st option, then Gasol, then Randolph, then its up to Mayo or Conley. Its sad to say that Dudley is/was our 2nd option. Then you have the Nash effect. Dont deny that there is one. The Dudley we see today would be half of what he is without Nash. Just like Mayo would be better with Nash. Hell, Mayo would be better on any team where he was the 2nd option.

He might be, he might not be. It's certainly curious that as the Grizzlies got better, his numbers got worse. Maybe it's because he's adept at sharing the ball and plays unselfishly. The thing is.. if there's all these other scorers to worry about, why isn't he getting a bunch of wide open looks and shooting a better percentage? 40% isn't all that great for a shooting guard, and I don't want to commit $8M per to a guy that shoots that poorly.

I didn't deny the Nash effect, I just think it mostly pertains to the beneficiary of his pick & rolls, but does give a small bump to the numbers of other players as well. I'm not sure it gives a 10% bump though. I think the biggest part of the Nash effect is just chemistry based. He's also very inspirational and a natural leader. Players come here and often change their whole work out routines and diets because of him. They see a guy that's almost 40 who's fitter than they are and they want to show respect by doing their best. That's the real thing we lose by not re-signing him by the way. You'll notice the guys that don't respond that way to Nash aren't here any longer too.

As much as we all love Dudley, I don't think anyone thinks/plans to have Dudley as our starting 2 or 3 in the future. This season, fine.... but in reality, Dudley isn;t a starting calibre player in this league..... Great role player or sixth man spark material... but just not up to scratch as a starter in my opinion....
s
I don't know about anyone else, but I was really disappointed with Dudley this season. I expected him to put up close to 16 points a game, with 6 rebounds, as a spot up three point shooter playing alongside Nash in the backcourt. He did have some great games, but he was inconsistent throughout the season. I didnt like the fact that he would pass up open threes either..... and always seemed in two minds whether to launch, or penetrate whenever he got the ball on the perimeter...... not to mention to complete lack of athleticism and abilty to create his own shot off the dribble.

I would be fine with giving OJ Mayo a contract around 8 million. Still very young, and despite the poor shooting, he is having a pretty good season. Playing in the sixth man role, he has a pretty high USG% this season, which could explain his poor percentages. I feel in this free flowing system, OJ would thrive here. The spacing would help him out, and he would get much more open looks without Gay, Randolph and Speights taking up all the space around 18 feet, which is his range.

I'm on the OJ Mayo Bandwagon. And theres space for a few more! Hop on boys!

Apparently suns really want him. Looking at a multi year deal at 4 million a year. Coming from hoopshype and brightsideofthesun.com.

Gee is a better defender and he knows how to run a fastbreak.

I'm smelling a S+T...

Gee + #23 for Dudley + may be a '13 2nd. Cleveland needs some veteran leadership. Duds is almost there. Our cap space remains the same.

If we get rid of Dudley for Gee I would be pretty cheesed.

Love the idea of getting an additional draft pick in the 20's. But I'm still torn as I love dudleys' developing game, as well as his good leadership he brings. With that being said, Overall, wich player could most likely have an overall greater impact for us? (hypothetically of course)! :-?

You're correct. I didnt say I liked the smell... but in Babby's comments he did say get more athletic. Cleve has #33 and #34 too. They will do something with them. I have revised my olfactory finagling in the Jerusalem thread.

1. Its to help us get Rondo.

2. Its for 2 late first rounders in a deep draft.

3. Its just Dudley. I mean you act like were talking about an all-star or something. He is what he is, a good hustle role player coming off the bench. He would be a boost to the Boston bench, and has a bit of a following, coming from Boston College and all.
