Re: Total overreaction from Heat board from loss
We lost a game guys. **** hapeens and it's not like they are going to win 3 games straight against us. If they do then I'd say it's time to have a reality check. Right now it's premature and some are no better then those biopolar knick fans

Moses Malone's “Fo’-Fo’-Fo’” championship Sixers squad didn't actually go “Fo’-Fo’-Fo’”... True story.

We know the misery of the last finals that we gave away
We do not want to watch our team loligag for 3 quarters then lose.

Shane does not defend Melo well, as soon as Melo faces up Shane with the ball, I know he's about to score just like I KNEW the 3 was going in.
Direct quote, " oh that's battier on Melo? Yea hes bout to hit that"... What I said to my girl.
Added to this if lebron was on Melo and not Battier, they more than likely won't call that non foul on the 3

Game4 - 15-29
Game3 - 7-23
Game2 - 12-26
Game1 - 3-15
Series - 37-93 ... 39.8%
Shane's been on him most of the minutes. I don't think a night where he's just jacking up mess and hitting it is such a poor mark on Shane. And I definitely don't think your "hit that" comment was backed by any actual reality. The only thing Melo's really been hitting with Shane on him has been iron. PEACE.

Re: Total overreaction from Heat board from loss
Shane does a good job on him, but lebron is better. B/c Shane is substantially slower than Melo, it forces he to give him space on his catches so he can not just go right around him. B/c of that Melo is able to get off fairly comfortable shots even though Battier contests them. I think You definitely have to deny Melo before he has the ball and do everything you can to make him uncomfortable. Battier can not do that alone and last night no one could do it b/c the refs wouldn't let anyone touch him. I think originally this is why they took Lebron off of him and then down the stretch Melo just hit some really poor shots.

Re: Total overreaction from Heat board from loss
I barely even read the GT, as I was gone for the weekend, but still caught the game. My analysis is simple: We played pretty complacent and arrogant and while the three ball was falling for us in Game 3, when we showed similar effort, it didn't last night and that's why we lost. I was watching the game with friends and after the first quarter I told them we could lose tonight. As we were up for the most part of the game, nobody believed me, but I knew it was gonna happen. We have those nights, our Big Three did not play well at all and our role players didn't help the case. Sure Wade had 11 points in the 4th, sure LeBron made some clutch baskets, but that doesn't take away from 3-3.5 quarters of sucking. The last play was garbage, sure, but nothing I'm gonna be sleepless over, as it simply resembled our play from the entire night.
With all that being said, I'm not concerned or put our championship hopes in doubt. Every team has rough stretches and rough games. When Boston won the title, Atlanta took them to seven games in the first round. Dallas choked mightily in a game last year against Portland and let an injured Brandon Roy beat them, only to come back and be extremely clutch for the rest of the playoffs. Last night was a reality check I'm not worried about. The way we respond is gonna be the more important part.

Re: Total overreaction from Heat board from loss
The reason people are angry isn't because of the loss itself, but rather the reasons why the loss occurred. Spo once again showed that he does not know when to make adjustments and that once again screwed us over. He saw Battier getting torched by Melo and for some reason, kept our best perimeter defender on Tyson Chandler and JR Smith. Seeing Spo just show an unwillingness or inability to detect and fix certain mismatches that happen just reminds us of last year's Finals where Spo getting out-coached was one of the main reasons we lost.
Also, the whole he didn't want LeBron to have 5 fouls argument is ridiculous. You don't worry about something like that when you're trying to win the game, if he has to go into OT with 5 fouls, so be it. It's a much better alternative than leaving a failing defender on Melo and losing the game in regulation. Cross that bridge when you get to it.

Re: Total overreaction from Heat board from loss
Melo scores 17.1 with Shane off the court, 31.0 with him ON the court per 36 minutes. Pimpwerx come on now, because the highlights don't show it doesn't mean Shane doesn't suck guarding Melo. This goes back to Game 1. Game 3 the team kept giving him praise but from the start Melo just sucked scoring and it made it look like Shane was doing a good job.
Shane gets backed down by him and run over. Melo even calls for the ball more with Shane on him.
LBJ needs to be on his ass for this final Game 5...
One thing is to have Shane on him, but LBJ should have been on him at the end there.
I'm not saying that's why we lost, but so much for giving the best player on the other team "multiple looks" and wearing him down, without having the best damn player on our team covering him. LBJ makes it so tough for Melo ( even if the shots go in), it ain't even funny.
And this board usually is angry over a loss, even me. Sometimes it's okay if they were just tired or whatever. But we have lost so much in this fashion with missed opportunities, and to have it happen in the playoffs sucks. But making a thread about overreacting is overreacting
And Melo gets confidence when he is against Battier. He calls for the damn ball and just is in his comfort zone and shoots. It's annoying really. Battier doesn't get up on him, dares him to shoot 3's and jumpers. GET CLOSER. But he can't because he would get blown by. That's the glory of LeBron, he can be all up on him, if Melo decides to go into the lane, LBJ is like HELL NAW and if there is help, Bosh or Joel makes it harder.

RT @tomhaberstroh: Per http://t.co/qPxxqSCe, Carmelo scores just 17.7 points per 36 minutes with Battier OFF court this series. Battier ON court? 31.4 points.
RT @tomhaberstroh: You don't need stats to see Carmelo has torn Battier apart, but the effect has been enormous. LeBron has size/quickness to match.
RT @tomhaberstroh: Carmelo shoots 53% when guarded by Shane Battier. As soon as Carmelo gets physical, it's over.

Battier came to the Heat to guard MELO.
We lost last game by two points with a chance to tie or win the game with a game winner
Don't expect the Heat to go 16-0

Re: Total overreaction from Heat board from loss
Ehhh. No one likes losing to the KNICKS. Especially given our team's history with them. Their play off losing streak ended, and they got their fans talking about a come back from behind. Also, you've got NBA hyping up their win, including some video they posted of some close up views of Carmelo's 41 points.
We wanted a sweep. Is it the end of the world? No way. But would it have been very nice? Yes. Lol.

It's more of seeing same mistakes over and over again from Coach Spoelstra than losing a game. We're going to lose some games here and there in the playoffs. But I cannot accept seeing SAME coaching mistakes.
