Corbin played Favors 32 minutes in Saturday's 102-90 loss but said he deserves even more time because his athleticism, competitive nature and desire are making an impact.

''His curve for learning is shortening,'' Corbin said. ''He's learning things on the fly. He wants to get better every night he steps on the floor. ... Even though we haven't had the success, he's demonstrated he has that other level in him.''

Corbin said it's also obvious Favors is ticked after losing.

''I think all of our guys feel bad about losing, just some guys you see it a little more in their faces and demeanor,'' Corbin said. ''He'll learn. He'll get better because there's a bad taste in his mouth, and he don't like it.''

Corbin also had praise for rookies Enes Kanter and Alec Burks, and wished he had played Burks more after he contributed 11 points and two rebounds in 15 minutes, and was 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.

Talk is cheap Corbin...... He always says the right things, and then goes out and doesn't implement them.......

Awesome gamethread though........

I don't think this is the answer. I'll be surprised if this lineup is able to score consistently. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see how dumping the ball into Big Al is going to work any better with Favors standing around watching instead of Josh Howard.

I agree, I haven't been able to understand what the big fuss is with Utah's big lineup other than that it means Favors is playing. In the times the big lineup is sent out, it mostly became a post up for Al. The only difference is that Favors and Millsap are able to crash the glass better than Millsap/Howard. But the Jazz have been a high amount of offensive rebounds so far this series. How much more offensive rebounds are you really hoping to get? 30? And the spacing on the floor is really really bad when your big lineup comes in. There's hardly room for anybody to operate.

At this point, just based on the series, I think it's obvious Favors need to play. IMO, it should come at the expense of Al Jefferson. I wonder ofcourse how well he'll play if he becomes the primary focus of Duncan. I'm sure even Diaw will still be guarding Millsap, and Duncan will take Favors. Favors has mostly done his damage againts the 2nd unit and with Diaw/Blair/Bonner guarding him.

Probably is not going to work.... but Ty is giving to the people what the people is asking.
Then, if Jazz lose (who is pretty probable) he can say he proved everything.

Still, the big difference is going to be in the deffensive end.

It's about time Corbin tried a lineup change, so I am in favor of it.

However, the series is lost and what I think the organization should be trying to determine (if they haven't already) is whether the Favors/Jefferson or Favors/Milsap combo is the one they want to go with in the future. They could play Favors with each for 15 minutes or so.

Its a step int he right direction but it should have been Harris, Hayward, Carroll, Millsap and Favors ...Big Al starts anyway and still cant defend pick and roll.

yeah let's turn this playoff game into a preseason game. You guys need to learn how to live in the now. As has been mentioned this is a game about pride, not a game about trying to figure out what lineups will work next year!

co_laper, Howard is awful on offense and defense, while favors is brilliant on D and okay on offense. This is primarily a move to boost our defense. Favors is very good on pick and roll and with help defense. Personally I think he's a great person to put in WITH Jefferson because he can negate some of Jefferson's mistakes, but doesn't demand touches on offense like Howard does.

I agree with Mr. Jazz propoganda and I will go a step further and say Favors will be in the Allstar game for the next 10 years.

I do disagree with Locke on another issue about benching Jefferson. In a way he agrees with me that would be best for the team on the court, but he says cant do it bc you are embarrassing him and hurting his trade value. His trade value is non-existent.

A woman walked on the court during the Lakers-Nuggets game, and someone in the national media tweeted lucky Jefferson wasnt on the court because she would score on him as well. No NBA team would want this guy unless they dump an unwanted big contract on the Jazz (once again Kevin Martin?)

I feel like this move is partly because Corbin doesn't have the balls to bench Jefferson or Millsap. Maybe he's right to coddle them but it worries me. If he's kowtowing to those guys, how will he handle a star-sized ego?

Jazz are a big dog in Vegas but I think we win maybe even going away with the lineup change. Spurs are satisfied to win one here. Game 5 well will be our last game.

Wow Al Jefferson can't get out to 36 year old Tim Duncan, even when his playoff life depends on it, and it's still only the first quarter.

Guy can't move his feet.
