I Hate Carlos Marmol

Post#1 » by Air Poohdini » Thu May 3, 2012 7:31 pm

Well Carlos had a three run lead going into the 9th and decided to let the Reds find a way back into this game, with only two saves for the season so far I officially hate Carlos Marmol.

Let's keep this open so we can speak about how Carlos has blown another save because I know for a fact this wont be the last time.

Poor Ryan Dempster. I've never seen anyone go winless pitching as well as he has. This is ridiculous.

We've been trying this experiment for too long, please let's just end this.

Good closer and we're 15-10.

Comeback Sean Marshall, I miss you.

12 walks in less than 9 innings on the year. Carlos has lost it.

Having said that, Stewart could've made things a lot easier without that error.

No doubt. When you're struggling something like that doesn't help. Even making it clean and getting one out, even on a double play ball would've helped.

Onto the Russell/Dollis era.

Dolis really sucks though. Seriously, he's immediately the worst closer in the game.

He walks TWICE as many people as he strikes out. I can't believe that we wouldn't have guys in the minors who can do better than this.

I LOVE Anthony Rizzo. He's easily our best prospect and I would do the trade again every single time. But man, Cashner would be nice to have right now.

Well, we should have sold high on Marmol. Probably could have gotten some good prospects in return. Now, his value is shot and we likely won't be able to trade him for much, not to mention is high salary.

Well bad news everyone, Carlos Marmol is now our closer again. He came in today as the closer against the Red Sox, I don't think that this is a good idea.

Sorry Carlos.

It seems like an innate quality of all Cubs fans to hate Carlos Marmol, but does he really deserve it? Sure, he's blown his fair share of games, but how much of that was his fault? Who knows what could have happened if the Cubs offense provided more support? Either way, he seems to have excelled as of late after incorporating his fastball more often. Will this last or will it fade as quickly as this Cubs season? Read more here:
