Re: 2012 Season Game Thread
Why is the daily thread always hidden? Sometimes I want to see how my picks are doing and the thread is nowhere to be found.

I know that the Yankees' staff hasn't been very good so far, but here's AJ Burnett's line from tonight...
2.2 IP, 12 H, 12 ER, 2K, 1BB, 2 HR, 72 pitches/41 Strikes

That pitching line makes me do a double take every time I see it.
Basketball is driven by three principles:
1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Cole Hamels admits to plunking Harper on purpose
Cole Hamels admitted after Sunday night's game that he threw at the Nationals' Bryce Harper on purpose.
Hamels struck Harper in the lower back in the first inning with a 92 mph fastball. It certainly looked intentional, and the left-hander acknowledged later that it was. "I was trying to hit him. I’m not going to deny it. It’s something I grew up watching. That’s what happened. I’m just trying to continue the old baseball. Some people get away from it." Harper had the last laugh, advancing from first base to third base on a Jayson Werth single before stealing home. Hamels could be facing a suspension. Source: Matt Gelb on Twitter

Re: 2012 Season Game Thread
I don't mind what Hamels did at all.
On a separate, but related note, I think Bryce Harper could be the best thing to happen to baseball in a very long time.

Josh Hamilton will f*ck your whole family and you will thank him or it. 5 homers his last 6 abs. His other ab, merely a double

Enjoy him while you have him.
And Hamels came off as a punk.

Michael Bourn hit 2 HR's today. Both over the fence.

Mighty impressive what the Rangers pitchers let one of the worst offenses in the game do in the first couple innings of that game today.

Re: 2012 Season Game Thread
The Astros had themselves a great draft. Got the guy I thought was most talented (power hitting SS is sexy) and he may take less money so they can sign another top 15 talent who has a huge arm.

Re: 2012 Season Game Thread
RA Dickey has allowed 13 hits in his 34 1/3 innings in just four starts in June. He hasn't allowed an earned run in almost a month.
This season might turn into something special.
