The fact that he is not just GM, but also President of Basketball Operations makes things a little more complicated. It might not be that easy to get rid of him. Do you remove him from both positions? Or do you simply replace him as GM but keep him in the organization as the PBO where he will continue to exert considerable influence on the moves this team makes? The former doesnt sound likely while the latter doesnt make a lot of sense. Im confused
I'd bet that Smith will be "promoted" (lol), and a new GM gets hired.
However, if Smith kept his job.......well, that would be a classic "Magic move"
