My fear is that Otis might actually stick around and continue screwing things up for the foreseeable future. He and Stan both need to be kicked to the curb but his roots are much deeper in the organization and he might actually survive this train wreck of a season

The fact that he is not just GM, but also President of Basketball Operations makes things a little more complicated. It might not be that easy to get rid of him. Do you remove him from both positions? Or do you simply replace him as GM but keep him in the organization as the PBO where he will continue to exert considerable influence on the moves this team makes? The former doesnt sound likely while the latter doesnt make a lot of sense. Im confused

I'd bet that Smith will be "promoted" (lol), and a new GM gets hired.

However, if Smith kept his job.......well, that would be a classic "Magic move"
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

One word to describe Ryan Anderson's playoff performance:

Meh. Or Garrity. Whatever works for you.

We're back to Garrity comparisons? I thought we were past this.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

He's earned it to be honest. Maybe he comes back next season (assuming he's still on our team) better than ever, including the playoffs, and he can earn his name back. :) Just like when people called Jason Kidd "Ason Kidd" He had to earn his J back by developing a J.

What I've seen (and said myself) is Kevin Love lite, and I'll stand by that comparison since it is clear as day.

I agree with the comparison. The problem is Kevin Love is more consistent and scores and rebounds against every team, not just the Bobcats. Love also has a post game, note that I didn't say more of a post game. If Ryan can add at least one post move he'd be a pretty good player, as long as he can do it against everyone.

Chris Duhon was Steve Nash-lite...

Showing resemblances to another players game doesn't say much

Anderson is to Love as Duhon is to Nash

Not saying ATM...

But Duhon once put up 11/7 as a young player..

Well there ya have it folks. It is now officially a reasonable analogy.

If you know me, you should also know that I have strong feelings toward Andrea Bargnani. I think he is embodiment of terrible basketball.

I am at a point that I may prefer Bargnani over Ryan, if the salaries match (meaning if Ryan gets a 4/42 type of deal).

Ryan is the irresponsible friend who promises to help you move to a new place. When the time comes, he does not show up, he does not even pick up his phone. I rather prefer a reliable guy who does half of the things Ryan does during the regular season AND can hold his own defensively.

Because you can not trust Ryan to do anything. You plan your game and rotations based on his stats and bam, he would tank the whole off-season, making you do things that you are not comfortable with to compensate. Ryan is a coach's nightmare.

With that being said, who knows, maybe he will improve his focus and concentration. But I will not hold my breath. This is one of those things that you either have it or don't. He does not.
