What'd he say, what'd he say?!

Something along the lines of, "You should amnesty the whole team, and your GM Jordan!"

It seems to be Tyrus in a rout. Shocking! :-)

counter arguments would be:
1) getting rid of a player who is a cancer and bad influence might be addition by subtraction
2) amnestied played might sign a deal with another team and therefor their salary owed would be reduced by the amount of their new salary, so less money paid by bobcats.

counter argument to this would be
1) sit him at home if you want to so bad
2) If this was the real concern we would have amnestied someone as soon as it was an option. clearly this isn't a big deal.

Last year Thomas didn't suck so bad. You can't amnesty once season started. Amnesty him based on how he showed up in training camp would be stupid if for nothing else, you should go and see if there are not any takers for him somehow.

For the former argument - not just cap space, a roster spot is a good reason too - especially when our prime candidate to be cut for crating a roster spot is Higgins Jr. -> it would help to have a roster spot in adavance then.

because that's NBA 2k12 style GMing and shows no long term vision. If we have a guy ready to sign an offer sheet, and need the 6 million, you amnesty Tyrus. If you need 10, you amnesty Maggette. If no one ends us signing, you don't put yourself through the salary floor and sign a bunch of scrubs to replace a scrub.

Simply put, we can use it strategically instead of just trying to make a point by amnestying Thomas.

10.9 = 10
26 < 10

Good job, Crunk. I rest my case.

Edit: and 8(Tyrus' salary next year) = 6 but that's not in the poll.

It is good for one use (total) before any season played under this CBA. It is limited that only players already on roster at the start of this CBA could amnestied by the team. So if it is not used this year it is Tyrus or never then.

We were exhilarated to have gotten rid of Tyrus, you all should hope for the same. As a Bulls fan, we hope that he would've developed into a solid post threat/blocking machine on a small market team. He should be better than he is and it must be frustrating for you guys as it was for us. He honestly needs to go. We got lucky with Taj Gibson in that draft, the dude is a stud and he made Tyrus look like an idiot.

If by reasonable he meant veteran minimum I wouldn't be mad. We may not bring anyone of this year PFs - Diaw done, White FA, Thomas could be amnestied, Najera's contract is upand he is injured, Mullens is the only one back - it depends whehter you consider him 4 or 5. By no means I want Jamison, but I don't mind tough I thik he can't be signed to reasonable contract just yet nor I see the point.

You have no clue how a team works do you? You think everyone only sees each other on the court during a game and has no other interaction than that? There's practices, bus time, tape time, locker room time, plane time... the guy could never play a minute and still have a negative impact on the team.

You do realize that home for Tyrus could mean being not allowed at practices and games and on the bus rides and all of that right? People have done that before.

:o :o :o I agree with Crunch. Don't amensity anybody unless a strong free agent can be added to the Roster. If TT does indeed bulk up and work on his offensive game he can be a 10/10/3blk guy at 4.
If he doesn't then trade him with Augustine next season. I am not in Favor of a player getting paid not to play and think the whole Amensity thing sucks and should have never been on the table.

All we have to do is frame Tyrus for a crime and then we will get out of his contract without having to pay him if he gets locked up long enough... Right?

If Dwight Howard leaves as expected, I think you try to take advantage and trade Corey Magette and Tyrus Thomas for Hedo and Glen Davis plus a future draft pick or two. Hedo can be amnestied after the season if necessary, but really the objective is getting a useful player (Glen Davis) and the draft pick, which could be valuable over time since it will take Orlando a long time to dig from under their roster problems.

That's right, my bad. In that case, keep Hedo and amnesity Diop, trade BJ Mullens for a future 1st round pick, then go after Goran Dragic hard.

PG: Goran Dragic / Kemba Walker
SG: Gerald Henderson / [2nd round pick] / Matt Carroll
SF: Hedo Turkeyglue / Reggie Williams
PF: [1st round pick] / DJ White
C: Glen Davis / Bismack Biyombo

+ 2 future draft picks from trades.

:o :o :-? :-? For some reason I feel Mully will develop into another Steven Hawes next year.
I would keep him and trade DJWhite. I would still do the Mags/TT trade for for HT/BigB. We will have Portlands pick in 2013 for the GW trade. We only have 25% chance of picking #1 in 2012. Even if we get it we should trade it with Augustine to Portland for 6 and 11 and Batum,if we can pull the above trade off.

Dragic- - KW- Vet FA or Marshall
Hendo -RWill -Carroll
Batum - Harrison Barnes @ 6-2012 - UPS
Mully- Big Babe- HT
Biz ,Zellar@10-2012,Diop
(if Zellar is off the board take Marshall as Backup point at 11 and Festus Ezeli center with pick 1 in 2nd round.

I'd rather have Anthony Davis than #6, #11, and Batum. Remember, signing players isn't part of a trade. There's more than one way to get those guys, and you don't have to ditch Davis (or the other top 4 pick) to get it.
