Ryan's not worth 5 million yet. . . Don't overpay him even if Dwight stays. We can always get someone to replace him easily.

I'm not a fanboy of Ryan but I know he's the best PF we can get that compliments Dwight. So I Dwight stays I'm for keeping Ryan

I'm still not sure why people think having a stretch 4 is the only way Dwight and whoever our PF is can succeed. . . more teams win championships with a traditional lineup than with the one that we have. . .

You get a cookie for reading that!

Here is my thing with Dwight, there seems to be three factors in play. When he requested the trade he cited broken down communication lines/relationships, a desire to play for a bigger market, and a lack of talent. The Magic can control for 2/3 of those variables, communication and talent, can't do anything about market size. So if I'm Orlando I clean house up top and put people in place that Dwight is comfortable with. I then implement a blueprint for improving the team, which needs to be detailed and realistic and something that Dwight could buy into. Then, I start making moves this offseason and play out the year, with or without an extension from Dwight, banking on the improved communication/vision and the advantages in cash to convince Dwight to stay. Since I think keeping Anderson is our surest path to improving our talent I would sign him with or without a longterm commitment from Dwight.

Alex Kennedy and Steve Kyler talking Magic Offseason til 7 pm on ESPN FL

Both don't know what Duhon has to do to be benched lol.
ESPNFL insider says he believes Stan is gone in a week and expects Jameer to opt out to avoid being traded, and doesn't see us upgrading talent.

Ryan would be a good asset to have and deal during the season. Maybe we could deal him + Hedo for Rashard Lewis?

I don't know if we can control talent this offseason.

Did Otis' interview just get interrupted by a clip of Bill Murray in Caddyshack for anyone else?

Followed by 20 commercials for The Dan Patrick Show.....

I agree with u I'm not a fan of stretch 4 but I am a fan of one maybe 2 3point threats in the starting lineup. Ryno defense deficiency can be made up with Dwight backing him up. I like that he crashes offensive rebounds and can explode with 3s any moment. If this team had Nash at Point a Defensive minded slasher at either the 2/3 and a guy at 2/3 who can create his own shot we are unbeatable.

That, I agree with, unfortunately, it's not that easy to get a Nash type player or a defensive wing that slashes. . . At least not for us.

Kyler explaining why Foyle is being interviewed, very interesting stuff. Per Kyler: Apparently, when Martins took over, management sold Martins, when he took over, that the deals that they had made weren't as bad as the media made them out to be (PHX/WAS deals) and that the contracts given out weren't as bad as advertised and that they were movable. Around the trade deadline when the Magic were trying to add a 2nd stars, Martins and the DeVos family found out that the contracts were as bad as advertised and were virtually unmoveable. So a lack of trust in Otis's team hit an truck with Martins, but the one guy they trusted was Foyle. Foyle is pretty respected by all the Magic higher ups, but he never asked to be GM. Around the deadline, while Otis and Martins were dealing with the Dwight situation, our higher ups dumped the trade deadline stuff on Foyle, giving him more than he asked for. Later, he was asked if he wanted to be GM. And here we are.

Kyler also says that the OMagic GM is a very coveted position around the league. With our new building, an owner willing to spend, and the potential to have the world's best center, it's a job that he says many execs would love to have. But he says he doesn't think Foyle is a good choice. Smart guy, but the last time the Magic picked up a GM without any GM experience was Otis Smith and we see how that worked out.

Potential GMs Magic should go after: David Norway (Pacers), Kevin Pritchard, Sam Henky (Houston) David Griffin (Cavs), Larry Harris (Bucks), Tony Ronzoni (DET)

At least we know his son graduated from the prestigious University of Southeast Maine.

Vital info for us Magic fans.
