Re: Future of the Kings
Ryan Anderson at the 4 next to Cousins is a non-starter. We need a defensive-minded shotblocker there, not a liability. Thompson is passable but in order to really make that defensive leap we need a rim protector

Anyways, if we move Reke to the 2 and bring Thornton off the bench, we need shooting at the 3 and maybe the 4 as well. Adding Barnes and signing Ryan Anderson to play the 4 would add all those elements. That would be a great offensive starting 5....only issue i see with it is defense would be terrible lol.
I can see it, Pierce without the play making. Also has a big body like Pierce. I still feel like the knocks on him are probably positives for thist eam. This team doesn't need another dribble 10 times then shoot player. Barnes will spread the floor and can make plays if needed.

Re: Future of the Kings
I thought everyone agreed that Isaiah isn't a starter in this league? I mean, he's definitely
good enough to start for us NOW... but long term? I don't see it.
We won't get anywhere with Thompson and Isaiah starting at the 4 and the
2. They're perfect guys off the bench, and fantastic roleplayers overall though.

Ugh. Is Barnes a crappy defender? I don't know much about him, but i'll
do some research like i normally do around this time of year.

I would say no. He is serviceable but his lack of size ultimately hurts us. Adding his talent as a key reserve would make the team that much better. That being said, no real point guards are available so he will continue to start until a better option becomes available.KF10 wrote:(b) Where is Reke's position?
SG. We really need to move MT to the bench as well or move him in a deal for a bigman or point. Reke needs to get a jumper though to become a more complete player.KF10 wrote:(c) Thornton as a 6th man?
Great shooter, check. Poor defender, check. Slightly undersized, check. Loves to shoot, check. All sounds like a strong sixth man to me.KF10 wrote:(d) Who is the starting SF?
Unless something better comes along TWill or Cisco is our three. Both can facilitate the offense with Cisco having a better shot but TWill being more athletic and can create better. With that being said, I say we trade Salmons and a 2nd to Atl for Marvin Williams. Contract is similar but I think both need a change of scenery. Marvin needs to get away from the ATL could've had Paul or Deron and Salmons needs to just be off our team. Greene should be let go and Outlaw is the last player on the roster.KF10 wrote:(e) Do we amnesty Salmons?
Only if we can get something better to help the team. If not, a reserve role again for Salmons.
I hope we get Drew Gordon, Draymond Green or Jae Crowder with our second rd pick. I wont even speculate on our first till we find out what pick we get. We need some intelligence and talent on this team and build around DMC's strengths.

I'd be thrilled with any of those guys in the 2nd round. Gordon kind of disappointed at UCLA but he's got some talent for sure. Green and Crowder are both awesome multi-positional defenders
