Why are we not getting Bosh more touches?

Post#1 » by flashwade33 » Thu May 10, 2012 1:08 am

I think this wasn't an issue in the regular season, but it seems like especially in the playoffs we aren't trying to get Bosh involved at all. I really don't know why this is the case. But he is a very talented offensive player, and we started using him only in the pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop situations lately.

I mean, if this is Spoelstra's fault, I think Lebron and Wade should do something about it, getting him more touches in the post at least in in-game situations. Is Bosh having a hard time getting in position in the post? I don't think so.

Last few games have really been Wade & Lebron and role players. We have a great offensive talent in Bosh, and we don't know how to use him.

Bosh got some touches there at the end, but yeah he said how he is fine with being the "random guy" on offense.

If nothing is going, they try a jumper from him or let him attack, though lately he has been turning the ball over and looking really silly.

I agree with you, Bosh is too good of a player to just set screens for Wade/LeBron. Spo has to figure this out.

His jumpers really help space the floor too. Weird how uninvolved he is at times.

Well like DefenseWins said they did a good job of getting him looks at the end of the game. I think his lack of touches this series was all about match ups. The knicks are real strong inside and he was not going to be a big factor offensively. Next series you'll see him get a little more work as West and Hibbert are not strong defenders, and especially Hibbert is very foul prone. But again Wade is going to be the primary scoring option b/c the pacers have no one that can even try to match up with him.

Ah good point about the match ups.... Bosh has always had trouble against Chandler.

KG and Chandler, Bosh has problems against...

Thank god Chandler doesn't have a jumper or anything. Or else not only would Bosh not be getting his looks, but he wouldn't be able to keep up with Chandler IMO.

About Wade, he will have the lengthy Paul George on him. George is a good defender and has a lot of size on Wade... it won't be easy for him.

Now LeBron, he will go off lol.

We should really only run three plays:

Lebron post, Wade post, Bosh post.

I think Bosh will be successful vs. Indiana. If they put Hibbert on him, he will go right around him, and he has a good height advantage against West.

It is true that Chandler and Garnett do a great job of guarding Bosh, but Amare, Jeffries and even Harrelson guarded Bosh at times. Amare defended him a lot actually. But I feel like we still did not give him enough touches. I am watching videos from his older games as a Raptor, and honestly I can't believe how he is playing right now. If Heat was getting the same production from him as he was in his Toronto years, we would be the definite favorites to win the championship. It would reduce the load on LBJ and Wade's shoulders also.

The thing that shocks me is when the offense is stagnating and the jumpers aren't going down, why the Heat don't run a play to give Bosh the ball near the low post and iso. He was great at that with the Raptors and usually scored or got fouled. He's too good just to be a pick and pop player.

Like i said in the other Bosh thread, i dont think he's in the same place now in term of health and physicality compared to his Toronto days.

Some of it was just Chandler playing excellent D on Bosh and denying him good clean looks. The rest of it was Lebron and Wade not being aggressive enough getting him the ball.

I feel like those two forget that Bosh is probably top 3 offensive PF in the entire game. He has more game than just spotting up for Js. I'd like to see more situations where he can face up and take his man off the dribble. Or some post ups.

Bosh was never a physical player, he was only physical for his final year in Toronto because people were talking crap about him playing like girl.

Bosh's game was always about his quickness. He shot the his midrange jumpers and drove inside and used his post game.

Think of Bosh as a lesser early years Dirk with good defense. Bosh isn't a physical monster player and he never will be. He just scores with his jumper, his quickness and his post footwork.

Yeah, and I actually think this is a great fit for the Heat if they know how to use it.

Bosh really needs to add a money 3pt shot to shoot instead of the long 2s.
