Knicks Need To Look into D12
Before the D12 Bashers come running in to post that he is a "Baby" and everything is all about him, remember that a lot of people felt the same about Melo. When I look at Carmelo 9 years into the league, 1 things matters to him and that is winning a ring. Tonight he was 15-31 with 35 Points, 8 Rebounds and only 1 Turnover. Yes, he played his ISO Game, but with a Chandler who cannot score unless its a wide open dunk, and Amare who had 4 Boards and 5 TO's in 32 Minutes, it is clear that he needs help. Spare me the empty pre-season statements that Amare makes, because that is all he ever does. When does he not feel "Phenomenal?" When is he not, "Ready to dominate?"
Tyson just won DPOY, and Amare, in the right situation (Not NYK) can be effective to a team (18 & 8). I have no clue what the trade would be, or if it could happen, but all I am saying is we have to at least look into obtaining D12. People have to stop acting like they have not seen games this year where he has put fear into the eyes of Wade and Lebron from entering the paint. As good as Tyson is down on the Block, he is not the physical monster that Dwight is. The last time we got 20 and 15 performances coupled with great defense in the playoffs was from Ewing.
Dwight does not have the most polished offensive game (constantly debated around here), but he can get in the post (something we SEVERELY lack) and could be a great complement to Melo. Having D12 in the block would do wonders for our 3 point shooters (Novak I am looking at you). For me it comes down to something simple. As an offensive player do you draw attention or double teams. Did you listen to Dirk after getting swept by the Thunder? "If you want to be an elite team in this league, you got to have two or three guys who can go off at any time and I just thought they had more weapons than us."
D12 and Melo will NOT get in each others way. Give D12 the low post and Melo the Elbow's. Let them work a 2 man game the right way. Amare and Melo are 2 Forwards who love the same space. Saying "Melo go to the right elbow & Amare go to the left" is not going to cut it. Scorers like that want the open space for offensive freedom.
If we could somehow go to war with Melo-D12-Lin that would be incredible. Far fetched I realize but people need to put down the pipe in thinking that even Phil Jackson could make this work. Is he suddenly going to turn Amare into the low post presence and passer that Gasol was? Is he going to rebound the ball 10.5-11 times per game? The guy does not even box out anymore. It has gotten that sad. As a Knick fan I hate seeing players like Brandon Bass, Udonis Haslem, and Taj Gibson clown us every time we play their opposing squad. D12 would never let that happen. He is not perfect, but it is our best chance at stopping this Miami Team over the next few years.

while he is a bitch, and people will bitch and complain about him, the minute he's in orange and blue all his critics will quiet.

They wont take Amare and Chandler for D12. Amare with all his injuries and drop in production has very little value right now.

The Magic are not going to take a risk on someone like Amare after the Arenas trade, if the Knicks want D12 they are going to have to trade Melo for him.

Have to agree with this. Chandler has far too many nights where he doesn't show up at all.

I seriously doubt the Magic even consider it, unless Dwight tells them to do so.

I would trade Chandler and Amare for Dwight, Turk and DuDu in a heartbeat. Anyone here who says otherwise is being a homer.

Re: Knicks Need To Look into D12
Hmm.....
I don't think we should seriously look into it because the realists are gonna come here & spit game about Tyson's strengths powering over his weaknesses. BUT we really SHOULD look into it & discuss the possibility of gaining Dwight. It won't happen but it's worth a discussion right? Even if it does seem a bit knee-jerk

Magic would consider it if. They're going to have to decide between Howard and SVG this off-season. They're probably talking about it right this second, in fact...

He didn't show up at all in the playoffs though.

Re: Knicks Need To Look into D12
This move would really put us right up there. It's too good to be true. Getting rid of a cancer in Amar'e in return for Dwight Howard? Only happens if Otis Smith is as stupid as I've heard.
Tyson has zero offensive ability and is completely absent on some nights. Had a very poor game today. I know he is a defensive rock, but so is Dwight, and Dwight can actually score.
Imagine how awesome the team would be. Lin running the pick and roll with Dwight, plus the offensive ability of Melo. Add the defense of Shump and we are very very scary.

D12 missing those free throws will drive this board into Armageddon.

At this point what can they really do better?
Now if we're just discussing just to discuss it's been thrown out there that the Magic FO doesn't care about feeding into Dwight anymore. There was a report that they were gonna ship him out to the Lakers instead of the Nyets if Dwight didn't sign that extension.
After this year it's become very evident that the Lakers are not gonna trade for Dwight on two reasons:
1. Bynum has turned into a monster this year (not having injuries albeit)
2. The Magic wanted Pau & Bynum, Lakers vehemently were against that.
The other teams that I can say are realistic trade options are Chicago & us. Chicago is not gonna part with Noah because let's be real, they're not gonna part with Noah

I didn't bring up the Nyets because once again the Magic are done feeding into Dwight & Dwight would love to play there. So that leaves...............

Re: Knicks Need To Look into D12
I kind of agree with the OP and most in this thread, we probably should explore D12 with all except Melo, Lin, Shump and maybe even Novack.

Knicks Need To Look into D12
Is this really a thread? Was it meant to be in green font? Trading the DPOY?
