Pat Garrity Vs Ryan Anderson (Playoff Edition)
In EXACTLY 20 games postseason experience and EXACTLY 5 starts (Coincidence?) in similar minutes per games in the postseason...
**Drum roll**
Pat
GP GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG SPG BPG PPG
20 5 24.3 .393 .407 .857 3.2 .9 .2 .3 6.9
Ryan
GP GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG SPG BPG PPG
20 5 20.4 .311 .344 .929 4.0 .5 .5 .2 5.0
Conclusion: Ryan Anderson is Pat Garrity. 4/40 Million here we go... One more bad contract in the making... and that spot-up, nonathletic players are completely useless against playoff defense (as you just witnessed, again.)
Flame away.

Can you add a poll to this? Ryan Anderson or Big Baby to start next year... I'm interested to see where this board stands now.

Why are we only comparing playoff numbers to come to this conclusion? You should also compare Pat Garrity's first 254 games vs. Ryan Anderson's 254 and see if it holds up.
You should also note in your findings that Pat played 20 playoff games in a span of 5 playoff seasons.
With that being said, Ryan Anderson completely failed in the playoffs this year. I'm personally not going to label him as playoff choker b/c I don't think it is warranted. Last year he played badly, but he was coming off the bench. <<<<Probably a bad excuse. This was his first year in the playoffs where he was a starter playing big time minutes and he failed. It sucks that Dwight wasn't there to help him out, but that's tough luck.
I would still prefer Ryan/Dwight combo just b/c they've been REALLY productive this year. If the asking price is too much, than I'm going with BBD. So I didn't vote

Forget the playoffs and compare regular season?
Elaborate on this "regular season" you rely upon..

^^^^^^Tell me where In my response did I say to disregard the playoff numbers?
I'm telling you to also include the regular season, if you are going to compare the two. See if Ryan Anderson is really Pat Garrity part II.
For the most part, I agree with your statement here. However, the way you're going about proving it is ridiculous.

Re: Pat Garrity Vs Ryan Anderson (Playoff Edition)
Interesting comparison...
Hard for me to vote, Ryno is more compatible with Dwight, but he proves to be just a 3-pt shooter and those are easy to get shut down in the playoff. How about we get rid of both and find a real PF that's compatible with Dwight AND doesn't fold in the playoffs. If Ryno accepts 15/3, then OK.

Why does that matter?
He's coming to the conclusion that Ryan is Pat Garrity based on playoff comparisons.
Why not compare Ryans's first 254 regular season games + playoffs to Pat Garrity's and see what we get? I'm thinking he won't b/c it might not help his case.

Re: Pat Garrity Vs Ryan Anderson (Playoff Edition)
Stupid Question but those are Pat's career Starts right? so we're comparing them to Ryan at 24? still Right now yeah Ryan is pat 2.0......But it's on him to improve......shudder to think that we might have to pay Ryan 10 milli a year....Brook Lopez i can understand getting 10 Million he can actually stand on his own two.....Ryan's had a great year but a big part of that was because of Dwight...we know....even he knows it.....Still though at the right price i rather have him on the roster....would hate to see him get his game together and improve on another team.....like Gortat

Re: Pat Garrity Vs Ryan Anderson (Playoff Edition)
Anderson has more potential to become a better player than Garrity was.
However, because of past stupid moves by our GM, we simply cannot afford to roll the dice on yet ANOTHER perimeter player who doesn't play D and has trouble against playoff defenses. We've seen enough of this crap the past 5 years or so. Big changes have to be made to keep Howard here and to evolve past a gimmicky offense that doesn't win championships.
Still, for the topic on hand - right now, the playoff stats are similar, but Anderson is/will be a better player than Garrity was.

Re: Pat Garrity Vs Ryan Anderson (Playoff Edition)
Gortat actually had a respectable back to the basket game, was a great rebounder, was a great defender during the beginning of his career. Ryan only has 3's and rebounding going for him. Not a great comparison IMO.

I agree, and being in cap hell with only 3 point shooting non-defenders is why I don't wanna get Ryan back.
