So explain how he still is incapable of playing defense after a DECADE in the league. Where is that adjustment?

Every player loses explosiveness. Stat losing his was not a big deal to me. I was upset he was never prepared for this.

Last night KG didnt dominate by dunking all over the place and blowing by his man. It skills and heart displayed last night. Call Hakeem Stat!! (did u see what i did there).

Amar'e doesn't have the fundamentals to learn from Hakeem, and at this point I don't think his ego at his age will allow him to do so.

I might be the minority but I honestly think most of Amare's **** play was due to just not being in shape as a result of the lockout. Which is 100% not OK but hopefully with a pg to set him up with easy opportunities we will see the amare of last season.

He looks awkward out there defending, he doesn't move laterally very well and as a result has a hard time defending. A lot of the time it's just that he's not putting in the effort but Amare is stuck in limbo between not being athletic enough to guard the 4's and not being big enough to guard the 5's. Even during the playoffs when you can tell he's putting in 100% effort he still has a decent amount of trouble guarding his man.

I've been saying it for a year now that Blake is Albino Amar'e. Doesn't play defense well, doesn't rotate well on defense, has a awkward post game, gets most of his points on mid range jimmy's, lobs & PnR's.

Amare can learn. His post game now.is small. Its just not developed. I think like Lebron that Stat has a disdain for the post. But if he wants to win he better learn.

Blake has shown some post ability these playoffs. Its a little frenetic but somewhat effective.

This I would be happy if he averaged 8-9 rebs per game though and played defense. Also improve his offensive skill set a bit.

Amare has no excuse not to average at the mini 10 per game. It's time for him to make that commitment. If you watch Garnett play 9 out 10 times he's always boxing out. It's so automatic that his defender doesn't bother fighting for position most of the times. Amare has to change his reputation.

Blake actually has pretty good footwork in the low post. He just has t-rex arms and is too damn short to finish efficiently.

Back to OP, Amare has a very good touch/hook shot out of the post. Whenever he plays smaller PF's, it should be an extra option for us.

Even little kids back guys down. Hell, Blake Griffin even does it. Amare thinks he'll face up and blow by anyone that defends him, even when there's no lane to go through.

Another thing I don't think anyone else has mentioned is why we would want a guy with back problems focusing on backing someone down?

I'm impressed with his foot work. If he keeps working at it he will be un-guardable...

wtf??

he is similar to al harrington in terms of having no control as to where he ends up at the end of his offensive move. There are times where his positioning is so horrible the refs bail him out thinking he was fouled.

Stat should work on getting that knock down jumper down again.
