Amazing thread over on the BOS board. It actually reads,
Refs just gave us the game

Josh shouldn't have taken that last jump shot

Joe should have done a better job at getting the ball in that second to last possession

Horford should have made those two free throws

Horford should have gotten the dunk, add one, even with the 170lbs Daniels tackling him

Refs should have awarded the Hawks two free throws and the ball back

Coach Drew should have yelled at the ref for "two free throws and the ball back"

Celtics fan here.

I really and truly respect the Hawks and their fans. No disrespect, you guys played a mean series. I hated to see the series end the way it did. I think your team deserved a better chance than to have the refs be so heavily involved at the end of the game, especially since I agree that you should have had a chance at a tie game and last shot. And you guys are also level headed with the way you watch the games, especially compared to idiot Laker and Knicks fans (who are the worst of these boards).

Serious respect for your team, and again sorry it had to end that way. I feel bad because I see why it polarizes the Atlanta community. A lot of people aren't willing to be Hawks fans because despite their resiliency, they're screwed time and time again. i am with you on how much I hate the refs. Much luck next year to you all.

Honestly, I have no respect for the Celtics. From the classless act that KG is to Rondo bumping refs to them having this game given to them by phantom techs on our players, every foul call going there way and us getting basically none even when going to the rack. I gained even more respect for my Dad tonight if that is possible. He always told me that I might as well be watching professional wrestling because they were both fixed just in different ways.

I gotta have respect for the Celtics board though. I like seeing people freely admit when something wrong happened.

I think injuries and refs really robbed us of a series here.

As a final slap in the face, the national media is COMPLETELY ignoring the blown call at the end of the game that essentially handed Boston the game.

That was akin to just deciding that one freethrow is worth two points. If you are going to completely ignore a rule for no reason whatsoever(that really can't argue that Marvin still had the ball, the ref blew the whistle before Marvin even started to pass the ball) why not just toss out everything. Yes, I slept on it and I am still pissed.

I'm a Heat fan who has lived in ATL for the past 1.5 years (kind of adopted the Hawks as a second team), and I just wanted to say that there was no more blatant screw-job than the non-foul shots foul on the inbounds play. I honestly cannot think of another playoff game since game 6 of the Kings/Lakers series (or maybe game 3 of Heat/Mavericks 2006) that had such insane referee bias. Its like the call was made, and then the referee crew had to huddle up and say "hey, Atlanta is not allowed to win this game, you can't give them shots and the ball back, so let's make up some BS excuse to make sure that we don't have to actually enforce the rules". None of those three refs should be allowed to officiate a playoff game for the remainder of the playoffs. It is annoying because this isn't even a judgment call that is in question. This is just a case of the referees blatantly ignoring the rules and making stuff up as they go. Just ridiculous. I know it won't lead anywhere but management should protest the outcome of the game - at least then it might get some play in the national media.

Here's the end of it: http://www.nba.com/2012/news/05/11/hawk ... ef:nbahpt2

Refs could have called the foul properly, in which case we'd have had one FT and the ball.
Refs could have "swallowed their whistles," in which case Josh Smith would have have a free layup or dunk.

Instead, they allowed the foul to continue past the appropriate time yet then stopped play while ATL had a breakaway advantage.

I'm sure the Boston Reftics are appreciative. The refs picked - twice - the only way to get BOS off the hook.

"Reftics" - I LIKE that.

Are u serious? That is they finally blew the whistle. Daniels was fouling Horford the whole play they were not going to call it because they knew the rule and that it would be shots and the ball. Then Josh comes wide open so they decide that calling it is better than giving Josh a free dunk or lay-up. Then they huddle up and change the rule on the fly.

Daniels was not fouling the whole play, the foul look like it happen at 10 seconds in the video, when Marvin was still holding onto the ball.

........ but yeah, Josh had his man beat and had an easy dunk but the ref blew the whistle and stopped Josh from dunking

Atlanta got screwed twice in one inbound play

Loving the Reftics/Sixers game thread over on the BOS board. They're actually complaining that Garnett is usually allowed to set illegal screens so the refs are wrong to "be inconsistent" now and call it.

("The refs usually cheat for us - they should have to all the time.")

I don't know if they even realize what they're saying.
