How do we feel about Smith for Granger/Hansbrough?

Sign a decent C to play by Horford, let's say Kaman.

Teague/Vet PG (Hinrich type)
Johnson/Vet SG (Green/McGrady type)
Granger/Williams
Horford/Hansbrough
Kaman/Pachulia

Pass on Granger. Other than Carmelo, Lebron, Durant, or Rudy Gay I don't want a SF for Smith. I would rather flip him into a lottery pick which will cost less than take on Granger

Ingredients to blowing it up follow:

Trade #1 of 5:

Josh Smith to Sactown for Tyreke Evans and swap 1st"s: So, we move up into lottery and we get back a expiring just like Josh's. That is a win-win. Cap space and lotto pick.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=6tu7dls

Trade #2 of 5:

Marvin Williams to the Cavs for Luke Walton and a 2nd rd pick.

Marvin has a year longer under contract than Luke so we save money and get a 2nd rd pick. Win-Win again.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7s5vow7

Trade #3 of 5:

Jeff Teague to Phoenix for Telfair and a 2nd.

Both expirings so we are okay with cap space and we get a pick out of it.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=cbhcc6x

Trade #4 of 5:

Zaza to the Clippers for Gomes, Trey Thompkins and a 2nd.

The money would be about even here, Gomes is expiring like Zaza, but we get Trey Thompkins a young player and a 2nd rd pick. Clip really need a backup C if they want to win big and they do. Lots of wins in this trade also.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7za3qrb

Trade #5 of 5:

Al Horford and Joe to Houston for Kevin Martin, Dalembert, Scola and 2 1st rd picks

Martin and Dalembert are both expiring next year. We would only be left with Scola but we would also get 2 1st's out of the take and save a boatload of salary. Like close to $100 million over the duration of the contracts. Win-Win. Cap space and picks.

I'd do all these trades except for teh Zaza trade.

The problem is that Sacramento and Houston would hang up on you.

Josh Smith isn't worth a lotto pick and Tyreke Evans ... especially when he could leave Sac after one season via free agency and if he does stay he'll want a load of money.

Does Sac really want to pay Josh (big money) before they pay their other guys? Is Josh really the guy to tie your boat to first on a team full of youngster? Maybe, but I highly doubt it.

I know Houston wants a bigman, but couldn't they get Gasol (the guy thehy really want) by giving the Lakers Kyle Lowry. I just think Houston would not be interested in taking on Joe's deal when they don't have any really talented core guys on rookie deals to surround him with.

Unless its a low lotto pick I'd say the Reke trade is dead but Sacramento would be interested and feel confident because A) they need an athletic defensive veteran big man next to Cousins B) have to spend money because of the new minimum salary requirements of the CBA C) could entice Josh to stay thanks to their impending move to a bigger market.

Prove that they would hang up on me. I have heard foolishness like that millions of times. Then you look up and Deron Williams is traded for potential or Pau Gasol for potential. Seriously, to each his or her own so many fortune tellers in the world today.

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Atlanta, New York, and Chicago being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta, New York, and Chicago had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Would you guys do this trade?

I think it is clear both the Bulls and Hawks need to do something to get better and make changes.

Bulls trade Boozer, Rip, Korver and CJ Watson to the Hawks for Joe Johnson and Josh Smith

Well I'm mainly trying to get you out of Joe Johnson's contract. Also Josh Smith has talked about he doesn't like the crowd in Atlanta, so I wasn't sure if he would resign.

Okay, add that pick you got coming from Charlotte and give us 2 more 1st. So, add 3 1st's to it.

Josh can't play center though. So the deal would have to make sense to fill positions on both teams.

If Toronto was willing to take Joe Johnson, what do you think the price would be?

Perhaps Calderon, Amir Johnson, + a young asset or two? Is there a combination there that might work out for both sides?

You guys'll still have Asik to play C, you're not gonna get Josh unless one of Noah or Deng are coming back our way

Yes I would definitely trade Joe for Amir, Calderon, and say Derozen? It would rid us of Joe's contract, you guys could sign Nash in the offseason and have a few years of being contenders especially with Jonas arriving, Hawks could trade Josh for BK's #3 pick if they get it, and then draft Drummond and amnesty Marvin, so we'll have a whole new core and will be able to have a year or 2 of a quick rebuild.

Son, that's pretty bad. You're not doing us any favors at all with this deal. Can't you think of SOMETHING good to offer?
