This is the kind of step that takes good players and makes them great players.

You only get better when you are playing against the best in the world, and having several weeks to hang out with the Kobe's, LeBron's, and Durant's of the world and to get free pointers from them on the floor is invaluable.

These two will learn things over the summer that no coaching staff could ever teach them, it should also put them in the spotlight a bit more, and having a popular name does nothing but help when trying to get a whistle for the rest of their career.

Love the revisionist history. Deron was traded.

While he may not have fully committed to the franchise, he didn't ask to be traded, didn't hold the franchise hostage, nor did he conspire to end up on a franchise with other superstars.

I honestly feel that certain fans have made Deron out to be some horrible person simply so they could get over him being traded so abruptly.

I was really happy when Deron was traded, but even if one begins from the premise that he'd already decided he wasn't re-signing here, he never [and still has not] said anything to indicate he wants to go to a "big market" and create a "super friends" scenario.

Not going to happen. He has said his time with the Jazz is done (unless of course he was traded here). I also agree with you that this team would be fantastic with him on it, but if he resigned here no team would ever do a deal with the Jazz again.
