I agree.

I agree with the Otis part, but I rather keep SVG if Dwight isn't going to commit long term.

I'm really afraid that both of these 2 could be back.......

So he can not play any of our youth during our rebuild?

I don't want Stan here regardless because he'll win more than another coach during a rebuild in which we need to focus on getting better draft picks. And if Dwight stays, we know that story too.

I honestly feel both of them have worn out their welcome.

Time for a new direction.........This franchise desperately needs it.

One of our posters posted this link on Twitter & it seems the Rockets think they have a shot at D12. They are saying if Dwight didn't sign the paper at the deadline that he would have ended up in Houston.

They do have 2 first round picks, but not very high. We would end up with 14, 16, & 19 picks in first round with whatever players they send as well. Those picks don't really excite me, but they could turn in to a group of:

Kendall Marshall, Tony Wroten, Austin Rivers, Terrance Jones, Quincy Miller, Marquis Teague, Terrance Ross, Jeff Taylor, Moe Harkless or we may be able to trade up with those 3, but I would MUCH RATHER KEEP DWIGHT.

Magic will most likely end up keeping Otis and re-assign him to another position to end his contract once they find a suitable replacement.

You would have to think if Dwight doesn't commit this will be one of the offers they consider. Just wonder what players they would be willing to part with & if they would be willing to take on one of our bigger contracts.

I would rather they roll the dice with Dwight. We don't have many bad contracts after next year anyways.

I agree 100%, but always gotta discuss all the other scenarios since we have no idea what the FO is thinking (who ever that may be haha)

1) Top pick (Anthony Davis) + Brooks
2) Bynum (while taking Hedo somehow)
3) Let it ride

Those would be my options, in order of preference, with an undecided Dwight.

The Nets already said last summer they would take Hedo and Duhon so maybe you could get Top Pick (Anthony Davis), Marshon Brooks, Gerald Wallace, Brook Lopez

However, I think Charlotte winds up with the top pick in this years draft

That would def be a better haul than what Denver got for Melo, but would it even be possible? Seems like a TON for the Nets to give up, but I guess Dwight>Melo.

If it's true that we could get Houston's two first round picks this season, you have to do that (assuming the Nets don't get a top three pick).

Make them take Hedo and have them throw in Kevin Martin. Kevin Martin + our three would be first round picks this season would be a pretty good start to the rebulidng process. Much better than Andruw Bynum or Brook Lopez imho.
I like this team

^^ Kyle Lowry is somebody I would love to get from the Rockets, but you would think they would want to pair him with Dwight unless they think Dragic could start.

+1 if the Magic really want to show that they're committed to making necessary changes to be at a championship level, they'll give Otis AND Stan the axe right away. Stan is a great coach, but I won't lose sleep if we lost him. It's not like he would overcome his weaknesses and stop playing Duhon.

The hesitation to fire Stan is a reflection of the incompetence that lies at the top of the front office. Dwight doesn't want to be the guy who calls for Stan to be fired so that it comes back to him in the media. He wants a front office to take those bullets, as they should. To have Stan's decision predicated on Dwight would be asking Dwight for another media firestorm on his head. He doesn't want that. The FO have done absolutely nothing in the past year, NOTHING, to improve this team or roster and prove to Dwight that we'll make changes. They owe Dwight some things here, and taking responsibility for firing the coach is one.

Just the mere notion that the Magic would bring back SVG under any circumstances is one that Dwight would scoff at and reply "is this franchise really that dumb?"

+1 Which is why I've lost all faith in ownership, Alex, and management and their knowledge of basketball and how the NBA works, by giving Dwight an ultimatum to sign the extension or get traded. I just don't think it's the right approach and nor do I think they comprehend how bad this team would be and for how long we'd be bad if we traded Dwight. Alex talks about 2 consecutive first round exits as unacceptable and wanting to get back to the ECF, but I don't think he understands how difficult that will be with Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks.
