Tiredness - what a joke
So many posters on this forum as well as "expert" commentators have tried to blame Lebron's missed FTs and the Heat's losses on tiredeness, saying that Spo needs to watch his minutes and give him more rest. Personally I'm happy with Lebron's play and can accept a few missed FTs but I'm so tired of this being brought up and then used by posters on this forum as a knock on Spo.
Lebron has played only 8 games since April the 19th - that's nearly a month.
In the playoffs Lebron has played 7 games and averaged 39 minutes. He's in the prime of his basketball youth.
If we look at an injured Paul Pierce, a player we rightfully hate, he's played 9 games at 37 mins. Old man KG has played 9 games at 37mis (and this is with the blowout win in the last game when their minutes were well down). Old man Kobe has played 9 games at nearly 40 mins a game.
And ALL of these players play hard on offense and defense.
Enough with the tiredness claim. A player looks more tired when they're losing. it's a mental thing.
Please stop the excuses. The whole team needs to make the open shots and not take stupid shots. If you're at a disadvantage rebounding the best way to nullify that is to make a high percentage of shots.

If you think tiredness is a mental thing, you have no idea how human body behaves.Lebron right now is expected to be pretty much everything for his team and play almost whole game and his game is predicated on running getting out on fast breaks and constantly slashing and bulldozing his way to the rim.Any human being would be tired.Human body has a limit. This is not about lebron.Dont forget i dont think one player has even been expected to do so much for his team in history. This is why heat is very flawed team. One player shouldnt be expected to do so much for his team.

8 basketball games in a month.
Mid twenties and physically in supreme shape.
It's a stupid excuse.
Do you think Paul Pierce and kobe are using that as an excuse?
Are people saying that Doc shouldn't be playing an injured Paul Pierce nearly as many minutes?
Kobe has played about 90 minutes more in the playoffs than Lebron.
Pierce has played about 60 minutes more in the playoffs than Lebron.
Kevin, nearly dead, Garnett has played bearly 60 minutes more in the playoffs than Lebron.
and they all play both ways, and they are all older.
I'm not saying Lebron shouldn't be tired, he damn well better be. I'm saying it's not an excuse, everyone is tired and many older players are playing a lot more time.
And there are lots more of 2 way players who are older who have played more minutes.
Iguodala has played 9 games at 39 mins a game which means 80 mins more than Lebron in the playoffs.
I think the guy he's guarding - Granger has averaged 40 mins in the 7 playoff games and he's trying to guard the greatest player ever to play basketball and then score against him.

Boys... It's playoffs. You have to do everything to win every game. If we have to play LeBron 42 mins because everybody else sucks, then he'll have to. It's not like we have the choice between him and a LeBron number two waiting on the bench. We also have to accept that his game gets worse if he has to play the whole game, but who could do it better? LeBron playing in a wheelchair is still more effective then 95% of this team right now.
The crapinness of the supporting cast is not Spo' fault.

Re: Tiredness - what a joke
What a terrible thread. NEITHER Paul Pierce OR Kobe Bryant is asked to do what LeBron does. Has Paul Pierce been forced to defend AND play 5 positions over the course of the first 3 games vs. Philly? No? How bout your boy Hobe? Does Paul Pierce have an INCOMPETENT head coach like Spoelstra who thinks his best player is a slave and he can just work him to death and he wont get tired? Put Hobe or Pierce in the post and let the bang with the Power forwards for 2 quarters, that is physically taxing.

What a terrible post.
Both Paul Pierce and Kobe play D and O hard. and they play more minutes. and they are older and they have injuries.

Both Paul and Hobe play D and O. Do Paul and Hobe play and guard 5 positions? Face it, Spoelstra being the head coach of this team is the #1 reason they wont win a title this year. I know it hurts your soul to hear that

Spo doesn't have any other choice. Who do you throw in after 3Q if the game is even? With Bosh out and the supporting cast playing like they are, you have to leave LeBron in. He won't die on the court, he will just run slower and have his FG% down.
The only way LeBron can get some rest late in the game is the team to play defense at it's finest and the supporting cast to hit some 3s.

That's a fair point, but what I'm saying is you cant expect the guy to NOT get tired. It's not like he's sitting out there guarding bum ass Granger all game, he's guarding quicker guards and banging in the post with West and Hibbert

He will be tired as .**., but Spo can't do anything else right now. Until the real DWade shows up, Bosh comes back or the supporting cast starts supporting something, LeBron will have to ball his heart out. There is a negativ correlation between his minutes and his effectiveness, but there are no alternatives.

Coach Spo said he wanted Mike Miller taking 12 shots a game. He only took 3 in 17 minutes of action.
James Jones took 4 shots in 10 min.
Why is coach not getting what he says he wants?

Whether you play D against 5 positions hard or against 1 position hard is pretty irrelevant to you getting tired.
Anyone who thinks that you shouldn't be tired after playing a game of basketball is a fool but if you only play 8 in a month you shouldn't really worry about playing 39 minutes in the next couple.
by the way Ratchet I see your favourite team Philly were trounced by the Celtics at home - were they tired?

I just think that coach needs some time off away from it all to reflect on how best to get shots for his shooters and not just his scorers. Picks are good n all but there needs to be secondary action with misdirection plays run.
Oh, and Haslem + Chalmers are not considered shooters in my mind. Without Bosh it's just Miller & Jones.
Keep comin back,,,Pittman not playing at all is a disgrace and waste of a big body.

The offense needs to be restructured in a way that doesn't end up with Haslem shooting an open jumper because that is what the opposing defense is designed to do. In fact, the only time Haslem should touch the ball is if he makes a cut to the basket or when he's rebounding the ball.
Pittman needs to start don't care what anyone says. He will catch the defense sleeping if utilized properly (no game plan for him), he has good hands & is a decent passer as well as a big body that gets in the way of offensive put backs.
Joel Anthony needs to be utilized at PF in a way that allows him to roam the offensive glass. If he makes a pick at the 3pt line he needs to crash the boards.
Mike Miller and James Jones both need to get at least 20 minutes and 8-10 shots each. If either one makes consecutive mistakes they can be pulled for the defensive Battier.
Both Lebron and Wade have to look for their shots but also need to be much more aware of where their shooters are when they're on the court.
Cole should also get minutes but in a reduced role not as a shooter but as a passer.
With my adjustments, coach Spo can go a long way at improving the offense.

Not yet. If he starts he's out with 2 fouls in less than 3 minutes. He should however come from the bench.
Heat_team02 wrote:Joel Anthony needs to be utilized at PF in a way that allows him to roam the offensive glass. If he makes a pick at the 3pt line he needs to crash the boards.
Oh boy. Everything about this statement is wrong IMO. He gets offensiv rebounds because he hustles, not because he can actually rebound. Having him at PF would screw up our defense and our offense. Him setting picks is a good thing, but he's completely useless for anything else on offense. Don't expect him to set a screen and to slip in while catching the ball. He can't do both on the same play.
Heat_team02 wrote: Both Lebron and Wade have to look for their shots but also need to be much more aware of where their shooters are when they're on the court.
Usually it goes like this: LeBron/Wade passes the ball 2-3 times in a row to an open shooter. He misses all his shots. For the rest of the game said shooter passes on every open look and just gives the ball back to LeBron/Wade.

I can't complain because every team still in the playoffs has the same problems - that's why is won't be an asterisk title

Lol at the thought that there is no such thing as tiredness... then bring up Kobe as an example, the same Kobe who turned the ball over twice yesterday in the last two minutes...because he was tired.
Human Being get Tired. If there was no such thing as tiredness, then why doesn't the starting five play all 48 minutes?
This thread makes absolutely no sense.
