Bynum had 1.6 points 1.7 rebs and 0.5 blocks in his rokie season and ~8/6 in his second year, so i guess an all-star in the making if Jonas will have something like 10/8/2 lol

On the other hand, Okafor had 15/11 rookie season, and no he cant crack 10 point per game. Talking about being confused.
If Raptors sucks badly next year, which to be fair, is a possibility, rooks will probably get extra time and touches, otherwise, dont expect much.

I saw tweet from journalist that Jasikevicius decided to play for NT. Can't wait his pnr with Jonas gonna be fun offseason.
Also it seems Jonas isnt the only Lithuanian C who want to play next year in NBA.

Mindaugas Kupsas measured in at 7'2 (218 cm) 255 lbs (115 kg) in shoes when he arrived in US for workouts, his agent Sam Porter told me.

As reported earlier, Kupsas is going to NJ tomorrow to begin group workouts for all 30 NBA teams. Will also workout for Warriors & Clippers.

Only 21 years old and I read he started playing basketball late didnt play for junior NT's. Anyone from LT followed him does he have a chance of being drafted? 7''2 guys doesnt come that often

10 points is a real posibility in a team that lacks of offensive weapons...
I mean, how many shots does Gray miss badly??? how many FTs does Ed Davis miss??

Kupsas in the LKL averaged mindblowing 8 points and 3,9 rebounds. He will be torn apart in NBA if he ever gets there. But I wonder if some teams are ging to get hooked on his size and a streaky jumpshot alone?

A technical point, but Rytas did not pick up their option on Jonas, so he is free to go to the NBA. The buyout is effectively being implemented.

The NBA has a long history of signing slow footed seven footers with a jump shot. They almost never turn into starters.

After watching him in highlights and in a few games, I just don't see an immediate impact from him next yer. He'll be solid and probably turn into an above average starting center at some point in his career, but not right away.

He's not nearly as athletic as Chandler, or as strong as Noah and he doesn't seem to be able to finish with his left whatsoever. So I'm just not sure what his niche would be. He just doesn't have the tools physically or skill-wise to be a star at either end of the floor. Despite that, I'm still looking forward to his arrival.

Nothing personal, but I hate these Noah, Chandler mambler and so on comparisons. It's JV and we'll see what he'll be when he will peak out. For me it will be a huge shock if he'll have such offense like mentioned dudes at his best years of career.

I have no idea how good or bad Val will be in NBA, but again his offensive skills (no matter how it transit to NBA league) are way different than mentioned players even at the given stage. These comparisons sucks.

Fair enough, who would you compare him to?

The great thing about Val is that there's no very good comparison. Some people watch him and say - he's young Biedrinis, but Bierins offense is too narrow for comparison. Others think he has some of Tim or Pau in him, but both are way more flexible and more of 4. Noah and Chandler make sense only for defence (and not at the given stage of Val's defence). I have no great comparison - he is what he is. That is being a pure 5, strong, competitive and really better offesive player than Noah, Chandler. Might even have a bigger body than those two, IMO.

My impression is that Sabas at 19 looked a little bit softer and slimer (and Sabas turned out to be a really big body later on his career) than current JV (though Sabas' skills already was out of this world and young Sabas was more athletic than JV) and I have a feeling that JV will be really tough around the basket, but will have those good offensive fundamentals at the same time (not overrating them to Duncan and Pau, or KG :)). So no optimal comparison really...

Forget about Kupsas. Gonzaga's Przemek Karnowski will be the next big thing.

Oh snap, Karnowski is finally recruited.

Jonas had a terrible season finale, but did you watched last years Eurobasket? I still believe Rytas was just a terrible place for him and I am glad its over. 5 more months.
And I am disagree with
not nearly as athletic as Chandler

Agree. But the good thing it can't be worse  NT will be literally a heaven compared to Rytas. Maybe this Rytas experience will even work out for good somehow.

Since there was a debate here about whether the Eurocup was at all comparable to the Euroleague in terms of the level of the competition,

Russian League finals, Game 3: May 19, 2012

Turkish Airlines Euroleague runner-up CSKA Moscow reiterated its dominance at home in the Russian League on Saturday by sweeping to its 10th consecutive domestic title by blasting Eurocup champion Khimki Moscow Region 75-90. The road win gave CSKA a 3-0 sweep in the best-of-five finals. CSKA's accomplishment was all the more noteworthy because it played the entire series without Andrei Kirilenko, who was the Euroleague MVP this season.
