Just my opinion probably but thats what I think is happening if they're serious about keeping Howard.

You forgot to add that Jrich would probably be traded for an expiring or a draft pick.

I'd keep BBD.

I don't necessarily agree with the strategy but it makes sense.

I'd say that maybe it will happen too, but Nets must get at least #2 pick, so we could draft Andre Drummond to build around him.

I still think Dwight does not intend to leave.

But, I may just read less and post on this board since everyone is infatuated in playing the Dwight Trade Video game. It got old during the season. It is ruining my love for the Magic to read crap like that.

That's what a smart management would do. Unfortunately, our management. . .

You can get rid of all those players after 1 more season and still save the same amount of cap space as waiving them now. (depending if Jameer takes PO or 1 year deal) So except for waiving Duhon now, it does us no good losing this depth 1 season too early.

You sure?

http://www.orlandopinstripedpost.com/20 ... -chad-ford

Though he offers no explanation for the delay, Chad Ford of ESPN.com said in a chat Wednesday, "I think you'll see them let go GM Otis Smith and head coach Stan Van Gundy in the next few days." Regarding the fate of superstar center Dwight Howard, Ford says, "I think everyone realizes he's gone sooner or later and the focus will be on how to best rebuild the team."

The Orlando Magic and their fans face a sobering reality.

Dwight Howard has been given every opportunity to say publicly that he wants to return to the Magic in 2012-13. But he hasn’t done so.

The silence is deafening.

To be sure, Howard doesn’t have to talk. He has one more season remaining on his contract and he is obligated to play for the team next season, thanks to his decision to waive his early-termination option.

No one really is in contact with him right now, but I say its more because of the move theyre about to make at GM, which I believe he's ok with. He's being patient. His disappointment with the organization has been because the same people blowing him up before to opt in can't even call him to see how surgery was and see how he's recovering.

This guy has as much cred as our beat writer and Chad Ford combined IMO

also why would howard say he wants to stay before any changes are made? he wants to make sure the franchise he commits to longterm has a competent front office and won't waste away his prime years.

This is a board about talking anything and everything basketball right? Not sure why some people are complaining. . . It's something that very well could happen. I don't wanna trade Dwight either, but that doesn't mean the organization won't if it comes to it.

Fire Otis immediately, talk to Dwight about the possibility of capspace for the summer of 2013 and to see where his head is at, if he wants out no matter what IMO you keep Stan and trade him to Houston something along these lines.... Dwight/Hedo/Jrich/Duhon for Martin/Lowry/Parsons/2 1sts this draft and whatever salary filler you would need to make it work.

Lowry/K.Marshall
Martin/JJ
Parsons/Clark
Anderson/BBD
T.Zeller/BBD

Or you package the 1sts and try to get into the lottery maybe all 3 for Drummond or even Sullinger if possible

This will also give you some serious capspace with Martin being an expiring during the summer of 2013
