If Oden is healthy we have to take a chance. The dude is probley looking for a 1 year deal to prove his healthy. If he played here, he would only have to worry about his health. If he said healthy with this team, he would receive a huge pay day the following year.

Just too many if's for me - he'd seam to be a liability the way we play defense. IMO

This is another example of why Spo isn't the right guy for the job. Oden would be a great addition for the minimum but like most, I fear we would FORCE him to play a way that isn't right for him to have successes

He's a 7' center. I understand that many people don't like Spo, but there aren't 20 different ways of using a guy like Oden.

Correct! There are 2:
1. the right way.
2. the wrong way.

Our defence is not currently built to use Oden the right way, but if we had Oden, and he was healthy I'm sure that the defence would be changed to fit the players strengths. That's what good coaches do right? Change their system slightly to use the strengths of the player. Right?

The Miami Heat don't change their system for it's players. Remember the first time you saw shaq run out to the top of the key like ZO use to do, didn't it look weird?

just no.

You prefere Curry on the roaster than him (if both are in ''basketball shape'')?

I said absolutely nothing about Curry. Seeing this guy, he wouldn't even go for rebounds man. He's so big and he never maximized his talent. He has always been more of a scorer.

I would prefer Curry though if they both came in and were healthy. Oden has no knees man. I wouldn't risk it. Curry has injury problems too, but it's not catastrophic like Oden lol.

We do need a rebounding Center, but we might as well either develop Pittman or draft another Center... we have some good prospects in the draft, then we have Zo to tutor people. I'd rather go that path than pay some guy (I don't even care if it's a little bit) who hasn't played in SO LONG and has mush for knees.

It just amazes me how some of you actually want ODEN OF ALL PEOPLE!

I'd say Eddy Curry is better at this point, as crazy as it sounds.

You should read this: http://zigsports.wordpress.com/2012/04/ ... -happened/. I would give him anything from 1 to 3 seasons with a <1mio/year contract. Curry had his chance.

Whats the difference of Oden sitting at the end of the bench, from Curry siting at the end of the bench?

Why such hostility in typing that others are blind so they can read it? :-?

From that recent article his school friend wrote, I think he has some mental issues as well as physical. Doesn't like the spotlight, Alcohol problems, quite a bit of depression (can't blame him for that too much with what he has been through). Not sure the Heat and South Beach are the place for this guy.

Plus I think his agent is just extracting money out of a team, no real chance of playing.
